I have heard nothing about what's happened with this bloke.
Was he suspended or not? |
Never was AFAIK.
It's outrageous, I don't know why the club doesn't just play him.
WTF do these arrogant pricks think they are, refusing to process this case in a timely manner? it's extremely unprofessional and unfair, it's not like he was taking mountains of steroids or something.

Because suspension will start from the last game he played. _________________ Magpie Jumper Gallery:

If you use the latest case as an example, Collingwood may well know the result but they can't announce it unless any or all of ASADA, Murray and the AFL give the go ahead.
I'll be highly surprised if there isn't a negotiated outcome at the bottom of all of this _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Until there's an actual verdict and sentence there shouldn't be any "virtual" suspension.
Innocent until proven guilty and ASADA has a responsibility to assess the case in a timely fashion. OR at least there shoudl be a defined time limit for a virtual suspension like this. I think it should not be more than 6 months, you are playing with people's lives here and it's also unfairly compromising the whoel team, club and also supporters. For example if he haed already got a 4 year ban last season, he coudl have been delisted, we would have potnetially had one more recruit on the list and it's very possible that recruit could make a difference in our current crisis.
Now after one year it's laughable, he definitely shoudl be able to resume playing until they deilver a verdict. If they rule 2 year suspension then his remaining 1 year would start immediately. |

Maybe next time AFL clubs don’t accept a provisional suspension and players play on until found guilty maybe then ASADA will pull their finger out of their arses. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Indeed. Murray will be ineligible for the Australian Womens Swimming Relay. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Apparently he's still being paid while on this provisional suspension, whereas if/once actually suspended, he can't be paid.
I wonder if that has anything to do with the delay? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^ Either way, looks like we can put to bed any hope of him returning for the finals (not that that ever seemed remotely possible). The article suggests round 21 next year will be his aim. Still a long way away, and hard to imagine a player in his situation (i.e. not having played for two years and no VFL) breaking into the side so late in the year. The fact that that would be the more "lenient" sentence is just ridiculous – hell, even four years for one-off deliberate doping is pretty steep – and a sign that ASADA have really lost the plot with this stuff. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
