I too have replayed the game plus Jayden package too!!
Not only his goals but the long and accurate hand pass that resulted in a goal from Thomas

The goal he kicked when he lost sight of the ball, had it bounce up in front of him, which he grabbed cleanly, took one step and snapped off his left (non-preferred) was just brilliant.
His other goal which he kicked from a set shot in the right pocket again with his left boot was another gem, and then...........
His big kick from 60 out on a set shot was great and fully deflated the Crows
He won't do this every week but if he can produce some of these feats of brilliance like this now and then, we have unearthed a gem. |
Actually the ease of that 60m shot at goal is what sets him apart from the rest of the team. We haven't had that since Daisy Thomas. Pendles, Treloar, Sidebottom, Josh Thomas and DeGoey are all good shots at goal from 30-40m out while Elliot is just in range at the 50m arc. Fasolo is capable of kicking a set goal from outside the 50m arc when he is on song but doesn't do it consistently while Crisp and Dunn are good for a goal on the run from outside the 50m arc. So Stephenson is really that player we needed to recruit to give us that X factor on the forward line and explains why the club was so keen to recruit him ahead of guys like Naughton and Darcy Fogarty. |

Huh? Unless Dale Thomas connected with a barrel, he couldn’t make a 50m goal. His kicking was (and still is) average at best. He had tricks, but not a clean or reliable drop punt, from any distance in front of goal or around the ground. You sure you’re not confusing him with Alan Didak? _________________ Est. 2002 |

The young man is just starting his journey and yes has the nack of goal kicking
My three who I would guarantee 8 goals from 10 shots every day of the week
and not in order of priority
McKenna
Daicos Snr.

You've been watching him too much at Carlton. Before he smashed up his ankle he could kick them from anywhere and from any angle (drop punt or torpedo). Our decline down the the ladder coincided with his injury (there's a reason Ross Lyon called him the best player in the AFL; in a couple of years Lyon will be saying Stephenson is the best player in the AFL). |

Don't forget a blind boundary umpire who we could have done with in 1979 cost Daisy goal of the year. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Nope. Couldn’t disagree more. Dale was always a mostly poor kick. Poor technique. No penetration. Unreliable shot from around 40m. But his kicking flaws were mostly masked by his brilliance everywhere else, and the fact that we had Didak, Leon, Pendlebury, Medhurst, Krakeuer, etc. I’m not on the ‘bag Dale’ bandwagon cos he’s at Carlton struggling his career away. He was AWESOME for us. Top 5-10 player in the league in 2010-11. But his drop punt kicking was always less than elite. He could dribble, he could snap, he could banana...but standarddrop punts were his weakness. _________________ Est. 2002 |

I still cant believe that Carlton had 5 rising star nominations last year. Their list is clearly better than ours.

I’ve heard that he’s about to be suspended for majority of the rest of the year. Hopefully not true. If true, Collingwood players are just the dumbest breed of player.
The bet: Pendlebury most possessions
If the player I’ve heard is in fact the player...gee whiz, hard to replace.
* By ‘caught’, possibly self-reported once he realised his gaffe, which may minimise penalty. _________________ Est. 2002
