Piepower wrote. Great win pies, would have made Bobby so proud. Watching the saints and swans game last night was disgusted to see williams, davis and schauble all ex collingwood players not wearing black armbands. Bloody scum good riddens.

But it is unusual for players of other clubs to wear a black armband for someone from another team. Incidentally Nick's father Craig was at the memorial service and proudly sang at the team song with the other past players. Would prefer Rose's death wasn't used for cheap point scoring.l

I would have been very surprised to see some of those x-Pie players wearing arm bands. I dont recall seeing it done before, unless of course those guys actually knew Bob Rose quite well or whatever.

Yer same i mean it woulda been nice to but i bet sumone mite of bagged them...saying they didnt deserve to wear the bands!

The main thing is that the current pies players and supporters gave our respects and thats all that matters!

But where does it end? You might have players scattered all around the place wearing black bands for players who have died from teams they used to play for. Keep it to the present team unless someone has a particular connection with someone from another club, or a special bond. Lokan seems less Magpie in some ways than someone like a Willo who was 10 years at the club but he is in the present team. That is the way it has always worked

I don't expect players to wear them once they are at other clubs. You would probably then have people saying that they weren't genuine anyway

Maybe the Swans wouldn't let them wear Black armbands? I don't think I have ever seen former players ever wear blackarm bands at another club.

No point scoring intended, was honestly disgusted by willo and davis as they would have met bob at the club and if they didn't know who Bob Rose was, what sort of a collingwood people were they.

It is a bit different to meeting someone and then wearing a black armband playing for a different club. Would Woey wear one if a Demon identity died?

What about opposing clubs wearing them?

We only did it against Carlton out of respect for Vin Waite and in support of Jarrad, playing two days after the death of his father. I hazard a strong guess that if Jarrad wasn't a footballer we wouldn't have done it.

Freo did it against you guys, as well as the tribute on the banner, which clearly touched a lot of people.

Should it be continued?
