Something interesting was raised on Game Day today. Everyone has been focusing on whether we'll lose by 22 or less (or win).... but if we beat the Dogs by 10 goals or more Adelaide become the 4th place team apparently.

Sounds like something to aim for... also means no heart attack for us supporters!

We can lose by any margin and we still won't lose our double chance, so no worries. We are 4 points in front of the crows.

NO!

I mentioned this in the sticky pre-game thread.

We need to keep Adelaide OUT of the 4 so Essendon fans have to splash out a couple of weeks dole cheques to watch them play next weekend.

to quote myself...

Quote:
If we win by more than 10 or so goals we push the dogs to an Elim with Essendon at the Dome and Adelaide than has to come back to face the Saints. As good as Adelaide were today, I would much rather face them in the GF or a Prelim and let the Dogs deal with the faultering Saints. I think the Saints v Adelaide at the Dome would be simply a ticket for the Siants to play a prelim and a confidence booster. Even if the dogs play the Saints, I think the Saints will still win, but at least the Dogs will push them all the way and knock some more wind out of their sails in the process.

Cats or Saints next weekend?

If it is the Saints then we have lost by 4 goals+ today BUT we get an extract days rest and I still think we will win and take a week off.

Cats are the easier option. Do we want the easy option? I think the boys want to be tested and the Saints appear to offer the best test. Having said that we will beat the Dogs today and face Geelong at the MCG on Saturday night for some 2007 Prelim revenge.
