yep, we'll be fielding our teams for the nab cup and season proper. competition for places will be hot, hot, hot, hotter than melbourne on a 37 degree day. for the preseason comp a team of 26 plus emergencies will be named and this will be pared back to the 22 plus emergencies when the real stuff kicks off.
will the likes of skaman and rudeboy be able to go around another year or will there be the revelation of that one last skeleton in the closet to bring them down? what of our serial whingers who claim they never get a game and the selection policies conspire against them? who are our new posters that might get a look in?
first off is to name a captain and vice captain for the nab cup who may or may not have the honour of taking that role into the premiership season.
there's been a long list of quality leaders in the last few years - not least dtm, frankiboy, pied piper and our incumbent dave86.
state your choices for captain and vice captain. anyone who actively lobbies for a role will be banished and join fire up as persona non grata. having said that, offers of cash or other inducements will be considered.
vote now and discuss. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I'm voting Pied Piper for Captain.
Joint Vice Captains, Frankiboy and Die4Pies. I thing we've had enough Dav's in leadership positions.
I'd also like to nominate Bucksisgod for some official role. if he doesn't make the team due to lack of prolific posting, he should be assigned the job of making the banner each week along with Burnsy. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Die4pies for me.
Although a Jack Spain/ Rocketronnie would be very interesting.
Would they agree on anything? |

Pietillidie deserves a go, in my opinion. A RR/Spain combo would be amusing but would probably tear apart the fabric of the team.
I like the sneaky second-last option there. Thinking of pulling on the boots again, coach? _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Mate can't believe you missed this.

Here's last years AA thread. it's basically a bit of fun. Each week the duly elected coach which has been JMCP (genuflect, genuflect) for the last couple of years picks a team of posters, notionally to play for Collingwood against this weeks opposition.
The selection criteria totally depends on what mood the coach is in at the time and he is completely biased and subject to bribes.
Fire Up (cos he got the sooks at never getting a game ) created a seconds team to play the VFL matches.
So basically, be nice to JMCP, offer to drop your pants and provide a place to park his cycle at any time and you stand half a chance of selection.

Jack_spain and rocketronnie. I mean, according to some posters, Malthouse and Bucks hate each other just as much

I would say Die4Pies. Being the former coach of the team, I think I've had my fair share of leadership duties. _________________ There's more to life than footy.........just not much more. |

I wager you're taller than the majority of the cabaret troupe who work at that food joint in South Yarra... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
