Collingwood supporters behind me really pst me off when i heard them bagging the song. I let them know how ignorant they were.

The worst part was that they were older supporters too. One of them said "someone has hijacked our song" and "what the hell is this". It really bothered me. Then one of the ladies said "atleast the played 'toxic' at the telstra dome last year".

Its like you support THIS club.... on THIS day... and you dont have any respect or any idea. Bandwagon freaks. Evil or Very Mad

Lol, idiots.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's in Lawrence. Only a brief snatch of it though (maybe a single verse?). It's been ages since I watched it.

^ yeah, still wouldn't be worth it. Laughing (although Max von Sydow is a great actor).

As for LoA, it is worth it. 3 and a half-odd hours long, but a great film all the same.

I love this Dee's theme song.
I don't know if it the tune or the Simpsons reference (see the Van Hautens Divorce episode) but I just love that song!

I'm sure if they beat us in a final I would get over it............IT'S A GRAND OLD......

Same as williamstown's song (gold & blue though) and I love it too. Sang it with some good mates plenty of times.

And the Morningside Supercats. Sung it this weekend as we beat the Sunshine Coast.

I saw the play "War Horse" at the New London Theatre last night.

"Goodbye Dolly Grey" is sung a number of times during the play, including a part where the soldiers sing as they march towards the trenches.

A great version of the song!

Coincidentally . the Dolly Grays was a Collingwood women's coterie group. Some time ago they changed their name to "Women In Black".

I think it was actually first sung during the Boer War, well before WW1.

Well, I've got to confess that I find the Richmond theme song the most stirring. I find myself tapping along to it, and when they do the "yellow & black" thing..well, I envy them that, it's so stirring.

#@$% club though, the Tiges, always hated them.

Agreed; it was my Junior club theme song; love the yellow and black bit.

I also reckon my respective fondness for these teams theme songs may bear a relation to the abject failures they have been in my life time Cool

Apart from the Collingwood song, my next fav is the Tocumwal footy club one where I grew up, sung to the tune of road to Gundagai.
