Jamie Elliot! Early breakout game?

Great hands, hard at the contest and rose to the big occasion of the last quarter. Very promising.

Yeah Bucks has gotta go, and Clarkes a 50/50 for mine at the moment.

But what a win! Those 4 points will be gold come round 22 you mark my words. GF preview for mine

Unbelievable win. Add Pendlebury, Sinclair, (hopefully) Didak, and I think we're going to be very hard to beat for the big one...

We've been fantastic in the close finishes this year - Essendon, Geelong, now this. Heart monitor nearly broken.

The find of the game - Billy Elliott. This boy could be anything. And Dayne Beams has become a match-winner. Unbelievable class.

THAT is the last time i listen to the friggin radio, bloody hell, heart attack material-"Inside 30 seconds, just out from eagles goal square, Natinue luking, can make a big name for himself, he comes in ...etc etc etc. " Just a gut busting win, we didnt play that well, but we got the chocolates against a very good team, who played the best they can against us. Sheer guts by our Woods.

THAT great win is for young Paul, all the way.!

What a game. Make no mistake, West Coast is a hell of a football team. And there were times I thought we might wilt under what was immense pressure. But the Captain marshalled the troops magnificently, Beams, Swan and Cloke were sensational, and we managed to hold firm even without the best player in the game right now.

The negatives - albeit there werent that many - were that Simon Buckley has no business being anywhere near this team, Marty Clarke had one he'd want to forget in a hurry, and we still had a tendency to go walkabout at certain times.

But you have to love the heart, the character, and the will of this group. They could have easily chucked that in today, but they refused to go away. A gutsy performance against an excellent team.

I try to be positive, and it was a mighty team victory by a great team against very high-quality opposition. The ability of this team to stand tall in the close ones - right back to the GF draw - is testament to their self-belief.

But I have to agree that Buckley is, unfortunately, not at the class required for this team. Nothing against the lad, he tries and he's achieved more in football than I ever did, but he's just not as good as this team. Marty Clarke had a shocker, and I suspect lost confidence early, but that happens to everyone in foortball now and again.

Luke Shuey is a blatant bloody diver and no one can deny that now. His swoon in the last minute when he turned to jelly at the knees and collapsed and still didn't get a free for holding the ball was ridiculously obvious. How the umps keep falling for it I don't know.

That said a great, gutsy win. I loved Elliott's last quarter and Beams was just enormous all game. Beamsy is a good finals series away from being elite and hopefully he can do it this year.

This fight was a slug fest where both teams kept absorbing the others best punches and then came punching back.

A great contest and win but we still need to be better and I reckon we can.
