TRAVIS Cloke's management has told Collingwood the forward could be persuaded to sign for four years if the club increases the cash on offer.
Speaking to AFL.com.au on Monday, Cloke's father and manager David has conceded ground on the possibility of a four-year deal for the first time.
But at the same time, Cloke Snr insists a five-year option is still a priority.

Does Cloke Snr have any consideration for the fact that Collingwood still has other stars to sign? I don't understand why we have to deal with this. Last time Trav was due to re-sign, there were issues. As a parent I understand you want to look out for your child's future, but come on - just agree on a deal. _________________ Side by Side |

He'd be better off signing for just 2 or 3 years and then re-negotiating when he's in the prime of his career for a further 3 years.
Anyway, it seems he aint going anywhere. |

Well I suppose Travis has to get as much money as he can now, because he doesn't have too many post-footy skills to make him money.
I suppose he could join the Fev-Akermanis-Mooney circus. |

Only time will tell, but I'd have thought he'd be there in a couple of years. This is a KPP who has had few injuries of any consequence in his entire career. Around age 27 or 28 he'd be at his best. |

Top call. Not many big KPP have gone much past 30.
Trav has done well with injuries so far but you'd be very keen to expect him to play to 32+.
Get him to 30 then take it one year at a time. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Exactly.
Trav was never going to leave and the deal was always going to be 4 years, this latest talk by David is just an attempt to show he's in some sort of position of power. |
