David, take that argument to any court except the court of popular opinion (AKA the media) and you lose. Big time. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Sigh.
1: Why do you insist on denigrating the supporting evidence of a reputable person who was there at the time and saw the shock and distress Abbott's violence produced at first hand, with his own eyes?
2: Why do you insist on ignoring the third witness, the one who saw the punches thrown? _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Is that directed at me or Stui? 'Cause I'm certainly not doing either... _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange

because I've conducted investigations, been in courts and I don't believe "opinions" and hearsay, I believe facts. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^ Bulldust.
Neither one is an opinion.
Neither one is hearsay.
Both are EYEWITNESS accounts, one of the immediate shock and visible distress on the part of the victim, the other of the violence itself.
The FACTS here are that there are three different witnesses who have testified. Why are you repeatedly ignoring the facts? _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

The fact that someone is visibly upset doesn't equal that what they perceive happened actually happened.
Look, I'm not about defending Bud, like I said earlier it's entirely probable that the allegations are true.
But being told that something happened and observing that the person is upset doesn't mean what they say happened actually happened. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^ And you are still ignoring two different eyewitnesses to the actual assault, never mind the eyewitness to the trauma it caused. What is your problem? _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

By the way, I don't really see the assault itself as important. Sure, it shows Abbott in a very bad light, and it reflects on his ongoing problems with women to this day, but it was a long time ago and we all did dumb stuff when we were young and stupid. It's not really tellingh us anything about Abbott we couldn't have already guessed.
BUT Abbott's decision to lie about it, that is a very different matter, and this lie could cause him huge damage. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Problem is there was no assault. None of the stories suggest he even touched her.
Improper behaviour, yep. Assault no.
Eye witnesses? Nope. Sorry. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Wrong. "In law, assault is a crime which involves causing a victim to apprehend violence".
And you are STILL ignoring the TWO different eyewitnesses to the assault who have come forward, never mind the witness to the immediate post-assault trauma. I don't get. You are not normally this stupid. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Turnbull, are you joking David?
Nearly fell off my chair. Everything was going swimmingly, you wrote with clarity, purpose & reason then you f*ck it up with a conclusion not related to the content of your post.
Please re submit.
Compared to Abbott you might have the beginnings of the introductions of a point with your conclusion but forget the comparison.
