Mind you that could be an epidural or an episiotomy.

Or the one you use to remove a difficult carlton supporter from your bowel

Good take on the whole saga, with added Krudd.

At least she falls short of calling hearsay evidence a witness, but agrees with the consensus that denying something that probably happened is dumb.

^ And this from a writer who is fanatically anti-Gillard. Months ago, no less an authority than ... er ... Tannin ... described her thus:

Tannin wrote:
Grattan has hated Gillard with an almost hysterical venom ever since the beginning. It's very odd, and rather sad really to see this once-respected senior political journalist in her declining years. All she does these days is dress up her personal mission against Australia's first woman prime minister in all the fake gravitas a senior writer can muster.

And it's still not "hearsay". Hearsay is when you simply repeat what someone else told you as fact. This is eyewitness evidence of the shock and trauma that Abbott's assault caused. Not hearsay, eyewitness evidence.

Actually, I looked it up. An "epiphany" is when you change your mind completely. Such as, just for example, suddenly saying "I have changed my mind about this. I don't want to have a baby after all!"

Eyewitness evidence that someone was upset. That's it. She could have been upset by anything and lied to her friend about it. His evidence would be thrown out by any court as hearsay. He saw nothing, only had an upset person vent at him. That is not a witness.

And the article, I won't argue that she has a set on Gillard, many women seem to for some reason, but this was about Bud and Krudd, the (not so) dynamic duo.

More emerges on this today - faced with clear evidence and with nowhere else to go, Abbott has now admitted his claim that the story was a product of a Labor "Dirt unit" is not true.

^ Yes, an own-goal with classic style that poor old Mark Latham merely aspired to and never quite reached.

Abbott: "Rather than talking to African countries trying to drum up the numbers to get us a temporary seat on the UN Security Council, she should be in Jakarta talking to President Yudhoyono". Problem is, President Yudhoyono was already in New York with Gillard. Ka-zang!
