You really should read the article before going off half-cocked with such silly claims. As you would have learned if you had been paying attention, this is not a "new claim" suddenly invented out of fresh air last weekend for party political purposes, it goes right back to Abbott's days as an extremist right-wing activist, and the plain fact is that he was stood up before the court for it decades ago - not yesterday, not last week, decades ago. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Joe Hockey said that Abbott hit him back in their student days on the rugby team, when the two apparently had a rivalry of sorts.
According to one source, Abbott allegedly gave Hockey two black eyes during one practice session... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

I wonder if by "back in their student days" he means "just the other day in the party room"?
Turnbull must get a few hits to the crotch in there. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

An unlikely story. Very unlikely. We know Joe Hockey far too well to believe this easily - if he says Abbott gave him two black eyes, then it was probably 17. Or possibly none.
(Never, ever trust anything Hockey says if there is a number in it.) _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Hockey didn't divulge the number. Though I do get your point... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

I did read the article, bunch of crap. The bloke didn't have the guts to try to pursue a claim all those years ago so he brings it up again now.
yeah he was stood up before the court, what was the outcome again? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

And today, as I said all along ....
News Ltd apologises over Abbott punch
http://www.theage.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/news-ltd-apologises-to-barbara-ramjan-over-tony-abbott-punch-story-20130805-2r8si.html
"News Ltd has publicly apologised to a former student politician who was branded a serial liar by Liberal powerbroker Michael Kroger after she had accused Opposition Leader Tony Abbott of physically intimidating her."
"In a remarkable twist that could reignite debate about Mr Abbott's alleged punching of a wall after losing a student election in the late 1970s, News Ltd's barrister read an extended apology in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday on behalf of The Australian to the alleged victim of the intimidation, Barbara Ramjan, as part of a settlement of a defamation action."
The settlement is understood to include a substantial cash payout to avoid having the case heard in open court and dertailing Abbott's election campaign. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |
