How you can place Essendon above us is beyond me. Did you take their supplement program into consideration?? And Freo? Come on give us a break. Put them up against a good team and they'll go to water |

They also gave Melbourne their biggest home defeat in 120 years.
I personally think they are not that good, but being totally objective, that is perhaps the best start to the season of all teams to date. |
Yep, I think they're definitely top 4 material at the moment. Whether they can sustain that is another question.
As for Geelong, I think yin-yang is right; their near loss to the Kangaroos (great comeback, but don't forget they gave them a 40 point start!) certainly takes something away from their first three rounds. That was probably my original reasoning in putting them third as opposed to second. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Round 4 form ladder:
1. Geelong
2. Hawthorn
3. Essendon
4. Sydney
5. Collingwood
6. Fremantle
7. Richmond
8. Carlton
9. North Melbourne
10. Port Adelaide
11. West Coast
12. Adelaide
13. Gold Coast
14. St. Kilda
15. Western Bulldogs
16. Brisbane
17. Melbourne
18. GWS
Still can't get Port any higher than 10th; bit of a toss-up between Essendon and Sydney in 3rd and 4th. The rest seems about right. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace

Ah, the controversial form ladder is back . This (Power Rankings) has been a weekly thing in American sports like the NBA for a long time, so it always made sense to me. It just tracks the author's rating of teams as more evidence comes in. _________________ Well done boys! |

port is ahead of north. i can't work out how you think they aren't. all evidence supports port. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

^^I agree with David. Port will actually need to beat a team outside of the bottom 4 - yes, they have beaten the Crows, but that is something of a special case with the Showdown being a blockbuster which can often go either way.
The Roos have played the last 3 premiers and been close to winning each game, they then smashed the Lions.
My original rating of the Roos (before the season started) was well above Port. The rating of the latter has increased given some decent form, but not hugely just yet, given who they've beaten, where the Roos have dropped slightly due to dropping 3 tough games. So the gap has closed, but I'd still rate the Roos significantly above the Power. _________________ Well done boys! |

sydney put north away when it mattered. port have won each game well and i'd give them extra points for beating the crows. adelaide have won the last three showdowns and won the second one last year very comfortably. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I don't think Adelaide are a top 8 team this year on the evidence I've seen so far. As for Port, they're certainly building some momentum, but how would they fare against us, Hawthorn or Geelong? Or North, for that matter?
We'll actually get to see that match-up in round 6, by which time Port may well be 5-0 and North will probably be 1-4 (they play Hawthorn next week). I'll still be tipping the Kangaroos. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Yeah, that's essentially it: if they were playing this week who'd you pick? I'd take the Roos over the Power. _________________ Well done boys! |

[quote="David"]Yes, but Port are undefeated too, and I don't think anyone's suggesting they're a better side than Hawthorn at the moment.
I ll suggest it from here to Alberton, Hawthorn had to hire an ex Port assistant as there coach and then they get Burgoyne, they must think they are quite crafty. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

It could go either way, but I think it's telling that North will be easily the best team they've played so far (on form). I'll stick with the Kangaroos. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

If this was a true week-by-week form ladder you'd have Collingwood behind the GC Suns right now.
If this was a Spirit Ladder Port Adelaide would be so far in front it wouldn't be funny. They are certainly doing it for JMac. |
