Imo we'll offer this tomorrow - first rounder, and future first rounder, in exchange for a Brisbane future second rounder.
If they don't take it, it won't get done. But I'm sure they will, and that's what we'll offer. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

If they want two first rounders, they can give us back this years 32,41 and 44.
That should give us points for academy and father son picks. |

More I think about it.
The more I think this whole thing has been orchestrated by Brisbane.
Beams is on good coin and in the exit interview he said he would go to melb after his next two years.
Bris are bringing in Neal
They need mid minutes into their kids and others like Cameron.
Beams has value Now - wont have as much in two years. THEY are the ones who have floated this whole thing but want it to look like they had no interest in trading to maximise whatever they get.
IF this wasnt the case Beams could or would have gone to any Vic club - the whole problem for Bris, is for them to offload him, Beams has a say and he has said collingwood only or I will stay _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Normally I'd agree with you but our 18 is useless unless we use it on something, don't think we'll be getting May (this year at least) so Beams will do (we know what we're getting).
Our 1st rounder next year and their 2nd rounder shouldn't be too far apart as long as we can continue to play the way we have this year, so imo... its not that large a shift. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

The last 15 AFL drafts had produced these Pick 18s:
2003. Llane Spaanderman | Brisbane
2004. Cameron Wood | Brisbane
2005. Max Bailey | Hawthorn
2006. Leroy Jetta | Essendon
2007. Alex Rance | Richmond ***
2008. Luke Shuey | West Coast ***
2009. Luke Tapscott | Melbourne
2010. Matthew Watson | Carlton
2011. Brad McKenzie | North Melbourne
2012. Brodie Grundy (followed by Ben Kennedy and Tim Broomhead) | Collingwood ***
2013. Luke Dunstan | St Kilda **
2014. Isaac Heeney | Sydney (Academy pick, who probably would’ve gone Pick 1) … therefore Kyle Langford (Pick 17) | Essendon **
2015. Jade Greshanm | St Kilda **
2016. Sam Powell-Pepper | Port Adelaide **
2017. Brandon Starcevich | Brisbane **
*** AFL stars / guns
** Serviceable / jury still out
3/15 guns (20% strike rate)
5/15 either serviceable or “jury still out”
Approximately 50% of the last Pick 18s will play 100 games of AFL football, but just 20% will be guns.
Therefore, if Collingwood was to give up 2 x Picks 18s (or thereabouts), there’s a very small chance either will be an out and out gun, and the likelihood is that just one of them will turn into a serviceable AFL player (and will take 3-5 seasons before they begin to be walk-up starts).
My verdict: bet on the sure thing (Beams). Our premiership window is open now. _________________ Est. 2002 |

We already have May in the bank next year.
Beams will come to Collingwood for less money.
Good goal awareness to do some swapping with degoey in the forward line and will take strain off the need for Wells and Elliott to be playing every game next year.
We can't be thinking sidey and Grundy will have the same years as this year with all the media focus they have had. Beams good insurance... But we have to get him without paying overs....
I can't find any posts from people giving me an indication on who we would use pick 18 on |

Personally Beams only comes to us if Neale (FRE) gets to Brisbane which means I suspect they would be willing to let Beams go reluctantly and Melbourne will get the pick to secure May from GC.
I think we either get Beams this year (if we want to pay overs) or get May next year on free agency. We won't get both.
If Beams comes, the pay back is him winning a Brownlow and we go back to back _________________ Buzz

AFL Trade Radio Daily Update - 15 October
Two days remain in the AFL trade period and a few dominos still need to fall before the Wednesday night deadline.
The likes of Lachie Neale, Jesse Hogan, Steven May, Tom Scully, Dylan Shiel and Dayne Beams are all contracted players yet to land at their clubs of choice.
It was a good weekend for Collingwood however, re-signing defender Tom Langdon.
Langdon turned down offers from Sydney and Fremantle to stay with the Grand Finalists.
The Western Bulldogs got a trade done, bringing in Richmond forward Sam Lloyd for pick 64.
Carlton list boss Stephen Silvagni said his club remains open to trading pick one, should an enticing offer come their way.
Tomorrow is the penultimate day of NAB AFL Trade Radio and teams are running out of time to get deals done. Expect it to be a busy one! _________________ All We Can Be |

Anyone heard anything more on Jake Kelly? The sentimentalist in me wants him at the club, his dads #23 was on my first ever jumper as a kid.
Side note: I heard the same Hawthorn supporter pitch the same trade scenario for Chad Wingard on 2 different SEN programs today. I haven’t heard any Pies supporters on there, so hopefully I don’t offend anyone but he sounded so pathetic. |

Not for me. I go the other way. You’re getting two / three years out of a very good footballer or you can roll the dice on a the possibility of a 10 year / 200 game footballer. I would back our club to get it right. Hine is back doing his proper job and he doesn’t miss many. It’s a great draft because of a few talls and a ridiculous amount of quality SA talent. Cam Raynor would probably # 8 - 10 this year. I look at it as picking the 10th best TAC U18 in this years pool.
That’s like shooting fish in a barrel for Hine.
I would prefer to use our #18 and work it down to 14 / 15 ( with a late future 2019 pick ) before Quaynor name is called out and grab either Stocker / Taylor or Caldwell. None of these kids would disappoint. Then take Quaynor and Kelly on reduced points. But that’s just me 😀 |

I’m with you Dave. I just want us to trust Hine with a first round pick before Quaynors name would be read out ( likely #18 down to #14 odd )
Seeing a lot of the Dragons, I’m a huge fan of Stocker. Really like this kid and should be there at # 14 odd. I’m aware that Collingwood have been to his home twice in last few weeks too. |
