Trade him trade him trade him!!
At least if he played for the Suns he would be able to kick it to a Collingwood player.

Treloar is gutsy and gets a heap of footy.
His disposal is a serious concern.
2018 Grand Final - watch the last 3 minutes and the blazing forward kick to McGovern to set up that chain of events.
Watch the weekend, handballs over his head to no one. Handballs to players standing still.
I would take pick 5. Frees up cap for Cameron and provides us the opportunity to go for some top end talent in the draft with two firsts and two second round picks.

Treloar aint going anywhere.

What we need is a big bodied inside midfielder to get the ball to the outside where Treloar can use his speed and attacking instincts to propel us forward. Sadly, in the absence of a strong inside midfielder, because of his guts and commitment, Treloar has played that role himself.

The subtle sit down and say:

"Adam, we want to replenish our list and are concerned that your hamstrings may inhibit your ability to be the player we anticipated you to be. Your family is going to the Gold Coast and as such, we don't see a way in which we can service a fly in fly out arrangement. If we could support you in a move to a QLD club that provides both personal and professional balance, we would encourage you to consider it over the next 48 hours and come back to us".

Deciphered: we want to trade you

We have to make serious changes to our list, losing Treloar is a major key to enable that - I suspect the deal will get done, even if he's somewhat reluctant at 1st.

Heater didn't want to leave either but what will be will be.

Will not happen but I’d love to be wrong. I liked the idea of 5 and two meter Peter for Treloar and pick 14 (we would probably want a second rounder as well)
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

The only trouble is that Treloar doesn’t seem to want to go.He seems to be quite happy at Collingwood and wants to stay with the club.

Imagine being told you have to barrack for Carlton, we need room in the cheer squad for a diehard pies fan with a louder voice.

It might cause a problem if the person had no way of attending a Collingwood match or rejoining the cheer squad because of long term restrictions. Just to be clear I wouldn’t ever consider this option but just presenting the problem.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

It was used on Brayden Sier. Could have been a masterstroke if Bear had turned out well.

Agree with the sentiment though. I'm firmly in the "rebuild now" camp and would sell everything right up to but not including the trophy cabinet for draft position this year.

There's talls in this here draft and they take longer to come on. We are getting a gun mid next year so if we don't strike now, it will be at least 3 drafts before we can get draft access to gun KP talent. Then we'd have the wait while they come on line and our mid talent gets wasted on kicking to whoever we replace Cox and Mihocek with. This time, we have to get the spine first.

So make the trade for Treloar. It benefits us. It benefits GC. It benefits Adam. It benefits his wife and child. The AFL will be happy that their problem child club is attracting talent. Wins all round. It's a no-brainer.

But that's just the start....

Engineer a trade for Grundy. Pay some of his wage if we have to. We will no longer have TPP issues and if anything, will need to spend in order to keep above the minimum. Adelaide will gain #2 for their FAs. Get it and their pick 10 if at all possible.

Trade DeGoey. Again. Pay some of his wage if we have to. Get a top 10 for him.

Could have 5 first round picks with at least 2 in the top 6, plus whatever we get for DeGoey. Get that pick 10 as well from Adelaide (involve next year's first if we have to), and that could be 5 picks before anyone bids on Reef. If we have to use a pick on Reef, then we still have 2 picks in the 30s to get some slippery small forward with goal sense and an ability to hit the front and centre.

Next year we pick up Nick Daicos.

Forget 2MP. Get his equivalent in draft picks. If we trade forward our first rounder next year, then get points for next year's bid on Daicos. We'll need them.

Forget Jeremy Cameron. We won't be challenging for 4 or 5 years.

Pump games into the kids. See which of them will be there in 5 years when we are challenging again. By that stage, those 'kids' will be 80+ gamers ready to tear the competition apart. And we would look back on this draft and the decisions made, as we do at Hawthorn when they traded away talent for Franklin, Roughead et al in the early noughts.

Or... keep doing what we're doing, a perpetual top-up, and maybe we'll make the final step one day. Maybe we'll get some gun forward on the cheap from somewhere like we thought we would be able to all those years ago when we embarked on our mids-at-all-costs strategy.

Oh dear. It’s going to be a very long and over simplified trade period.
