I could understand it for other Blockbuster matches, but for Anzac Day? That's a pretty disgraceful change.
Well done boys!

I'd actually be happy if we forfeited the points and didn't show up.

Pies should offer free tickets to any disabled veterans and just pay out of their own pocket. They can afford it, would be openly condemning the new AFL policy, and it would be excellent PR.

Just emailed the CFC:

To whom it may concern,

Today it was revealed that the AFL would no longer be offering free tickets to football games based on the expected attendance. One of the games no longer offered will be the Anzac Day clash, ending the tradition of veterans continuing to the MCG after the Anzac Day parade, to watch the football. The decision is an absolute disgrace, and I believe Collingwood football club is in a wonderful position to make a statement on this.
I propose that Collingwood FC makes a public statement offering tickets to any disabled war veteran who requests them, free of charge.
As a member of the Collingwood FC, nothing would make me prouder than to hear our club make an offer such as this. Our veterans were willing to give their lives for us, this is the least we can do in return.

I hope you will take this suggestion in to consideration.

Best regards

Well couldn't have put it better myself. The AFL must cease making any reference to the ANZAC name to brand their profit making match round herewith.

The AFL is a dirty greedy organisation that has spat in the face of the returned serviceman of Australia with this decision.

If this decision is not reversed, I will hand back my membership and never go to another game again.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

April Fools was yesterday.

How much money does the AFL think this is going to save them?

Well the lynch mob is already assembled.

Let's march on the AFL anyway and pick a different issue.

Well veterans were nearly ambushed. We need to be on guard just in case. How dare they!
