No more Tom foolery, no more ballyhoo!, if he gets through training this week he plays, if the game goes to plan we can sub him out at 3qtr time. _________________ Defender...........

I agree with this. Start him on the bench, bring him on at the 5 min mark & let him go. He will not be a liability unless he breaks down again. If the game is not in the balance, sub him off. _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

I don't think Reid is ready. Three goals in the reserves isn't a particularly strong case for a seniors birth. PK kicked four the week before and didn't get a game. I wouldn't mind seeing Marsh get a run. I think if we can bring him and Adams in this week we'll go OK. I heard Cloke is going to miss the next two but I haven't heard anything about Elliott. Any news on him? |

If he can remain uninjured, he'll play against the Swans in 3 weeks. He needs a minimum of 2 more VFL games under his belt to regain full match fitness and touch. |

He has to play seniors, what's the point of him getting injured on dodgy grounds in the twos.
Next two are on the MCG - play him out of the goal square next to Jessie and Darcy.
Witts, Oxley, Toovey all need to be dropped. Goldy shouldn't be there either, but can't see us making 4 changes.

Yep, and Uncle Buck backs him to the hilt every time: "...couple of more weeks for blah-blah..." _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

We have nothing to lose now, and Reid on one leg is a better option than Jessica up forward. _________________ Defender...........

This is a silly thread. why no earlth would a team that is in 11th place and clearly not ready to contend for a flag, feel like they need to risk an all Australian caliber player entering his prime years.
Now I am not casting a judgment here as to whether it is right or wrong to play him in the seniors in his current state (its a healthy debate whether he needs to prove his body is strong at a lower level before stepping up to the faster pace and greatly more physical game of AFL).
My issue with this thread is that it suggests we must do it for reasons not to do with Reid's long term future in the game. My only response to this is Why? I'd only be that desperate if the prize was a flag. Otherwise, he comes back when people think it makes sense for ben Reid's long term future in the game.
That might be now, but probably it isn't until he's proven his body can handle the VFL. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
