Should Kenya Be Given Test Status Too?

Post by gobbles21 »

Who thinks Kenya be given test status.
Bangladesh was made a test nation. Kenya put them to shame in the world cup. So in my opinion, Kenya should be made a test playing nation, or Bangladesh should be stripped of their test playing status.
Kenya have applied for test status for 2005.

Given that Bangladesh has Test status, yes. ATM Kenya deserves their status as a ODI playing country but the step up to Tests is a biggy.

I think a second division of The Netherlands, Namibia, Canada, UAE etc. should be formed. At the end or a given period - 12 months, 2 years - the top performing country would be promoted and replace the worst perfoming country in the top division for at least that given period.

Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh were swamped when they first entered the big league. Bangladesh look as bad as SL did when they first stepped up. Everyone thrashed SL at first but they are now a competitive Test side and have won a World Cup.

NO

Bangladesh have proven they're not up to it and I don't believe Kenya is either. I'd like to see Kenya tour and play some County sides and some Pura Cup sides to see how good they are over numerous days of cricket.
Do I look like the tech?

Hell Yeah Kenya should be playing. Out of all the minnows they are the best i think.

They also seem the most enthusiastic and are the most natural athletes as well :)

Donny, that's a great idea of yours. I think having the two divisions would work very well, with the top team of division 2 replacing the bottom of divison 1.

i was reading about this and the reason why bangladesh got test status first is because they have 120 million crazy cricket fans and the cricket world didnt think it would take very long for them to develop. and yes i think kenya should get test status simply because they have earnt it and they've shown they have the heart, support and tallent to play against the big guns! ive jumped on the kenyan bandwagon!
