Interstate/International Membership

Post by Hiya-and-Higher »

There was a question in a thread below about Interstate membership.
I've looked here:
https://secure.interactiveww.com/secure ... ership.asp
and I can't find anything that quite fits.

I figure there must be at least another 25,000 supporters who live all over the wilds of Australia and can't get to games or club facilities but would gladly buy a membership knowing they'll never use the usual preferences or privileges, but would still like to feel that they are officially part of the club.

So please consider another category...Interstate/International Membership. Maybe $101?

You might get a surprise how many will take it up.

G'day Hiya-and-Higher,

Yeah it was me that asked the question! And I totally agree with you about there being a membership for interstate/internation!
Just one question for ya: WHY $101 BUCKS????? Image

Eddie, if you see this, is that at all possible???

Cheers, Chris

Well CJ Image $101 was just a thought.
What would you reckon?
I figured the club would need some incentive to set up a new category. Maybe they might strike a special badge for us folk who so often 'miss out' participating in real live football.
We could be The Magpie Foreign Legion.
Look out opposition, there'd be a second black and white tribe!

Nice idea, maybe a little cheaper seeing as though Interstate members may not be able to get to many games.

H-and-H,

Firstly, I would pay $101 bucks IF thats what the club agreed on! The reason I was asking is simply because Carlton have a membership called the Blue membership which entitles them to the Blues mag and just a few other stupid little things ie Keyrings etc for about $60 bucks! Obviously they dont get any passes to games or voting rights, BUT at least they are PAID members!

I know I could sign up and pay $25 bucks for a Pies Net Membership. But I aint going to pay $25 bucks just to get a newsletter sent to me via e-mail as well as me paying internet costs and other cost when last year the Net membership was FREE! Now go ahead and call me a cheap-skate, I dont care!

I just thinking more along the lines of say about $60 - $80 bucks
for the interstate/international membership and get the similar
sort of thing as the 'Blue' membership!

Oh and by the way the name 'The Magpie Foreign Legion' sounds fine to me. Image

Anyway, i'll get off my soapbox now!

What I would like is to be 'counted' as a member, not a fringe thing like net membership. I could buy season ticket membership but I'd never be able to use it, I could by social club membership but I'd never be able to use it. I'm sure there are many others in the same position. I'm keen. I'm itching to join up! But I don't know what to join? especially when I don't need tickets and I'm not likely visiting Melbourne.
OK The Mapie Foreign Legion could be 60 or 80 or 100. Perhaps for 100 we get a badge, a keyring, and a belt buckle thrown in. I want to be *counted* as a member and I'm happy to pretty much donate money for the privilege, and I figure that for every 1,000 Interstaters joining up, that's $100,000 into the magpie coffers. There just needs to be an incentive for interstaers to join up, that's all. Something to maske them feel excited...a part of the club. I'm sure I could talk a dozen into it in my country town alone, if they could feel like members and have something to show for it. If I was sent a poster with Eddie holding a Magpie badge swinging in one hand, while pointing to us with his other forefinger, with the caption Collingwood Needs You, I could put it up and I'd get plenty to sign up. For $60 I'm sure i could, for 80 and 100 I'm *pretty* sure I could.
