Any more special guests?

Post by the s man »

What a buzz?

I could not believe my eyes when Eddie was on the bulletin board answering everyones queries. If nothing else it proves that he is fair dinkum about the club. Apart from Joffa who is just about getting as much publicity as Eddie McGuire, I wonder if Eddie can knock on some doors and get some more special guests to come along. Perhaps an intimate evening with Mick Malthouse.

Just an idea!

I've been quietly reading our President's thoughts and impressed with the honesty and candour.

The comments about simply being a supporter wanting to see his club return to its former glory are the ones that impress me most each time Eddie utters them. So far the off-field ventures HAVE been worthy of the "saviour" tag, but many of us are impatient for success where it really counts. Blight's comment last week on the Footy Show was interesting: that if he didn't create a finals team within two years then he should move on. I'm realistic enough to think we may have one more year sans September, but know that the talent on our list means that finals for the years 2002 - 2007 should be an absolute expectation of the army.

Eddie, here's a challenge from one young father to another. My 2-year old saw the cover of this morning's Hun and exclaimed "That's Nathan Buckley" and proceeded to go get her 1999 Membership ticket (which she keeps to play with because of the shot of Bucks on it) and come back to the kitchen singing the club song. Expect to here similar progress with young Joseph in 18 months time!

PS: All the best with the challenge of meeting your heavy work schedule and the challenges of fatherhood.

PPS: Thanks a bloody lot for keeping me up over an hour later than I intended Thursday night. The non-shots of the "Puppetry of the the Backs of some blokes apparently doing some funny things with their wedding tackle" was a disappointing end to an otherwise good show. It's started better this year than it did last year - and we haven't even got to the real stuff yet! Keep it up.

Thanks for "pointing" out the innuendo (unintended), SG.
