THE BEST RUN THRU I HAVE SEEN IS HANGING ON MY WALL....

It was when they wanted to change the Australian flag...

It said FOOTBALL IS AUSTRALIA COLLINGWOOD IS FOOTBALL
(then between it had the Australian Flag in Black and White and istead of the union jack it had Black and White stripes)

Best I have seen is on Anzac Day 1999. One side of the banner was the entire Aussie flag. There was a line at the top that said simply "play with pride"
We are the premiers
The mighty premiers
and we are mental, and we are mad
we are the loyalist, football supporters
the world has ever had.

Aaaahhhhh, I love it when someone post's this topic!!

Having been heavily involved with the cheer squad from 1985 to 1992, I have a bank of memories. Here are some of my Fav's. Most had big pictures or Magpies and the like which i cant illustrate here.

1985. Round One. First Night Game at the G Vs North Melbourne.
"On this night of nights,
underneath these brilliant lights
Our stars will shine so bright
Apon the MCG tonight"

1988 Vs Carlton probably around Round 15 at the MCG.
No trains working beacuse of a strike. Sunday Afternoon. 88,000 crowd
"Forget the Met to get around,
you've made it to the Melbourne Cricket Ground
To see the Pies in all their glory
Continue Carlton's sorry story."

1990 Second Semi Final
30 foot high run thru.
Massive mean looking magpie picture with the words
"MIGHTY
MAGPIE
POWER"

In 6 foot high letters

Late 80's sometime Vs Nth Melb at Victoria Park
Kangaroo Culling Season
Today's quota - 20

Big picture of a gun. Monday morning the club's phone rang hot with people complaining including the RSPCA and WWF.

Approx 1998 when the VFL was pressuring us to move to the MCG
"If you want Collingwood to stay
at Victoria Park, Call VFL house
from 9am Monday morning
on xxx-xxxx"

VFL switchboard experienced meltdown and no-one could get through till tuesday afternoon. Official apology demanded by VFL

1985 Vs Fitzroy at Victoria Park - Our first ever AWAY game when Fitzroy were co-tenants
"Fitzroy -
Not co-tenants,
but unwanted guest's"

Official compalint made by Fitzroy and Cheer Squad President had to formally apologise to Fitzroy. (but it was true!)

Approx 1985 VFL park Waverley
"Collingwood
Raiders of the Lost Park"

With the Raiders line done like the movie posters of Raiders of the lost ark.

I have pics and many others written down and will post them one day.
