No.
I am not blinded by the commentators votes.
The game was won in the back half today. Look at the time spent in forward halves.
Pendles was not his normal play creating self. Yes, he racked up the numbers, but he had plenty of ineffective deliveries.
But hey, I'm in the minority. People are blinded by the commentators and hold back from expressing true opinions for fear of bullying posters.

Haha a bit fired up. But what your saying is true the midfield let us down today, the backs where outstanding, really stood up when needed.

2. Heater
1. Cloke

Really wish I could have squeezed Jolly & Leon in as well.

Very surprised at the lack of votes for Tazza. I thought he was superb.

Votes 2 and 1 could have gone just as easily to Cloke, Ball, Toovey or Wellingham, but I thought Shaw was the general down back, as ever, even if Davis took out more of the enemy. He takes his football and his team so seriously, that you can see he was born in the Collingwood faith. It was especially good to see Sharrod getting his mojo back. Dids' form is a worry - hope it is not a product of his entering the back end of his career - but if he can turn it on again, we'll be 10 goals better than anyone else going round.

3 Tooves - On the seventh day Tooves was born - a while in the making but worth the wait!
2 Jolly - for 15 years I said - get a ruckman and thank god Me and others were finally heard!
1 Taz - The prodigal son returns home!
Honourable mention - the backline!
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

3. Pendlebury (the medal man - classiest player on the field)
2. Cloke (the real beast - best forward on the ground)
1. Davis (the Lazarus man - he's back)

The first two are players we may not have won the game without. Leon just played a very good game; both with and without the ball. His one on one stuff was excellent. Also looked dangerous when going forward. Can see him being very useful as a switch player over the season.

Tooves very, very unlucky. He was superb down back; saved us on many occasions. Heath also did his bit very well; ditto Tarrant.
Well done boys!

3 - Pendlebury
2 - Cloke
1 - Toovey (CHANGED - see below!)

So hard to give one vote as a number of players could have squeezed in; Davis, Ball, Reid and Shaw were great, but just loved Toovey's attack on the ball when he was on the ground.

UPDATED VOTES:

3 - Pendlebury
2 - Cloke
1 - Shaw

Just watched the replay and although Toovey had some great moments, Shawry really worked his butt off throughout the whole match. So had to change my votes!!!!

3. Pendlebury (by a country mile)
2. Davis
1. Toovey
Next: Cloke, Shaw and Reid
I would have had Pendles BOG by far if the game had ended at half time. Just think he faded away towards the end and wasn't there when the pressure was really laid on us by Essendon. I understand people giving him three votes, but personally, I just think there were better on the ground when the pressure was on, and there were others more influential on our win.
