For me the most concerning 'out' will be Johnno.
Maxwell has been out of form, probably related to his injury, and Jolly out gives Wood a good run, also if there's a lot of rain it will probably nullify the Ruck a bit IMO.
Johnno to me, is the glue that sticks the midfield and backline together, fading the lines, and is effective all around the ground. If it rains tomorrow like it has the past two days, we'll miss his skills around the ground more than two 'talls'.
Gonna be a great game though, can't wait

Right there Scotch. BJ is a key player in our defensive structure. And he has the ability to go forward and kick a long goal.Scotch wrote:For me the most concerning 'out' will be Johnno.

1. WTF has Beams done wrong? He'd kicked 9 goals before being dropped into exile. If Mick is too cute expect Dayne Beams to be on the bus to the GC Suns asap.
2. Simon Buckley on a wing - you've got to be kidding!
3. Brad Dick is not fully match fit and we have too many small bodies to go in against the big bodied Cats.
4. Goldsack is a premiership defender - what's gone wrong?
No. This game will be a lot closer than I thought or wanted. Damn!
No real surprise with selection.swoop42 wrote:Another game, another tough week at the selection table.
You feel that Tarrant(if fit) is the only player guaranteed a return to the side.
If Johnson doesn't come up then he'll be a straight swap for Chris.
The biggest issue surrounding selection this round is whether we continue to go with the 4 smalls or bring back a couple of premiership heroes for some added size.
I expect Taylor and Lonergan will take Cloke and Dawes leaving Scarlett free to roam.
This scenario will likely form what direction we go at selection because we need to make the Geelong defence accountable as individuals.
So Mick will need to decide whether we try to hurt the big bodied Geelong defence offensively at the drop of the ball with a fleet of quick goal sneaks or do we try and match them physically and in the air with a couple of defensive minded forwards to quell there rebound.
Given the forecast it looks like we have decided to go small and quick up forward.
Hopefully the bigger bodies of the Geelong defenders wont be an issue.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

Macaffer. Now there's another premiership player missing.3rd degree wrote:A bit of a turn up , Beams or Maccaffer should be in at the expense of Buckley.
Beams, Macaffer, Goldsack. The other outs are genuine injuries (unless Maxwell is being given the "calf" excuse).
I find it hard to believe these blokes could lose form so quickly.
Add to that those missing with injury from our premiership side: Jolly, BJ, Maxy and Nathan Brown. Good God we must have killed a black cat.
Surely this is the weakest side we have fielded in two years.
