Very enjoyable evening, love beating those scumbags. Living in Bentleigh I'm surrounded by aints supporters, so it's a great train trip home when we win.
Next week could test the depth a bit. Hopefully Buckley is OK to go, with Blair back in for Swan. Bit disappointed in Daisy, even if provoked it's just not worth retaliating.
Anyone heard anything about the ankle injury to Beams????

Atleast up forward his dropping of uncontested marks wont immediately cost us a goal the other way...ADRIAN25 wrote:At Game Day this morning. Maxy said Buckley had tightness in the back. If played would have been the sub. He thought Blair will come in for Swan. He also said that the club is trying there best for Nathan Brown to be back between round 17 to 19. Moving Tarrent to forward line then.

And in the first half when it was there to be won he moved the ball cleaner under pressure than almost anyone else on the ground, too.jack_spain wrote:Always does. Fantastic result. I privately predicted a contest for the 1st half, then a blowout in the 2nd. Happened roughly that way. A copy of the score from the replay would have been a nice touch, but what can you do? A great game to watch nonetheless. This was only the second match I have been to in years. Rest assured, I intend to go to more to make up for lost time.
I was one of those who did the double and went to the VFL match at Vicky Park before kicking on down to the G. Aside from the result in the curtain-raiser, it made for a great day of football. I look forward to the next double feature in round 22.
Well played, Pies!

I was a bit stressed before the match, worried that our energy wouldn't kick-in till maybe too late, and given that the aints had been showing form.
Silly me.
The boys turned it on, great tackling, and the lightning speed esp from Leon was a highlight. Great night, thanks Pies.
But empty seats, what's that about, 70,000 members not there on a night like this, don't get it?

Agree. Wood was really good in the middle, but not much of a factor around the ground.AN_Inkling wrote:^^Wood's work around the ground wasn't great tonight, and McEvoy did beat him there - though to little effect. Wood definitely beat him in the ruck contests though. Not only more hit outs (40-30), but clearly more effective hit outs.
Get back on top.

Mc Evoy was doing a fair bit of damage around the ground and I think Wood took only one mark. He has certainly improved but needs to string together all aspects of a big man's game.Cam wrote:Agree. You can hold off your AFL membership for one year though, so many will do that next year, if they haven't already.Brenny wrote:I believe AFL memberships might drop off. I'm sure there are people out there who will have to make decisions...
Memberships or Foxtel. At current rates, Foxtel is $60 pm for spots. $720 a year.
My bro-in-law is doing exactly that, as he has 2 young kids (2yo and 6 months) and simply can't get to most games, so he will hold his membership over for one year (at no cost) and buy Foxtel for 12 Months.
Many will do likewise.
It will be interesting to see if Collingwood's membership numbers can keep growing also, but I think the 3 game option helps here, as I think many more will take up a 3 game membership next year, maybe even cutting back from an 11 of 18 gamer.

There will be no way known I'll be giving up my Legends membership just to get Foxtel. I barely have enough time to watch the games that are on free to air, let alone 9 games every weekend. Other than the footy & a few other sports, its crap.mattys123 wrote:You can hold off your AFL membership for one year though, so many will do that next year, if they haven't already.Brenny wrote:I believe AFL memberships might drop off. Even if things got tough financially, Id rather sell a kidney than give up my Legends membership.
I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.
