Newsflash:

Anthony Rocca has been dropped from the team to play Fremantle.
This is a fact, not rumour.

Thats disheartening news given its Rocca's 100th game. If anything, MM would have attempted to use this as inspiration to get Rocca and the team back into it. If we maintain our accuracy this weekend, then Fre will meet their match!!!

PS Im new to this bulletin board. And it was clearly obvious to me that this was the best bulletin board around. I've been a coll fan for 10 yrs now, and the passion for the black and white is stronger than ever! Fav players: tarrant & ndavis

I'm taking Spock's news with a grain of salt at the moment. It's a bit hard to be dropped from a team that hasn't been named yet and it's unusual for any team announcements to be made before Thursday evening.

How did you hear the news so early? I read it on the web around 7pm last night, but couldn't get on here (I've had to come a bit left field, Mike, as the proxy server I use has banned this BB!!! No-one seems to know why but nor are they restoring "straight" access).

I would have thought one more game to "have the chance to fail" would be given, but MM's comments on the Footy Show last night were spot on. For those who didn't see it, there was a highly unusual pre-recorded statement from MM about how much he admires Rocca, but that last week's performance wasn't a one-off: that his whole pre-season (Ansett Cup & Prac matches) were full of similar performances, so he needs time in the 2s. The praise he heaped on Rocca was an interestingly calculated move (one you'd never have heard from unShaw)...let's hope it pays off.

We live in interesting times.

If Anthonys form was so bad pre-season (and I'm not disputing that) then why was he not given more of a run in the Tassie practice match?
This BS about the ground being to small does not wash, If a player cannot get a feel for the ball then you must give him as much ground time as possible. Form cannot be retrieved sitting on a bench.
