The two most dangerous aspects of the Blues are their midfield: Judd, Murphy, Robinson and Simpson, and their small forwards Garlett, Walker and Betts.
They don't have anyone decent to match Cloke with Jamieson out, Thornton isn't as good and Henderson isn't a real defender.
Jolly should dominate Kreuzer and Warnock.
Hopefully Luke Ball can do a good inside job. Swan, Pendlebury, Thomas and Wellingham are all classy enough to beat them in the clearances.
The main reason we'll win is our list bats deeper: we'll have 22 guns on the park. They'll have about 10 with 12 average players.

Lest we forget:
1980 Carlton cheer squad banner, after 1979 grand final:
"Collingwood bow to your conquerer"
1982 Carlton cheer squad banner, after 1981 grand final:
"How do you win a premiership? Play Collingwood."
David Parkin on "ABC Sports Star of the Year", 1981:
"If you play Collingwood in a grand final, you just assume you'll win."
Give this human effluent a 30th anniversary present they'll never forget!

A win and no injuries will do me.
I'm a Magpie 'til I die.
Most of the muppets at Talking Carlton have conceeded.
90% are talking about resting all their stars for games they can win. Laughable really.

Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy.

Lucky I was born in 1985 and didn't have to live through those years.regan is true fullback wrote:Lest we forget:

I do however remember my first ever Collingwood - Carlton match. It was in 1991: a very wet and dreary Saturday afternoon at Waverly Park and we got done. I still remember trouncing through the muddy car park after the match.
I can't remember when exactly the first time I saw Collingwood beat Carlton but it seemed like the first 10 Collingwood - Carlton matches I saw were losses, and losing to Carlton was never nice.
So now I will always savor the taste every time we beat Carlton. It always feels good after what I went through in the 90's.

Oh yes, the media talk back shows and blogs were awash with Blooz supporters trumpeting the certainty of flag #17 this season.
Given that the Blooz haven't beaten any team in the top 8 since round 8 last year other than the Swans, it really makes one wonder where all this delusional optimism was coming from?
Throw in the cast iron fact that Carltank haven't won a final of any description since television went 16:9 widesreen ratio and you have your version of "Blooz Virtual Reality" which requires all non Carltank supporters to suspend logic to cater to their demented hallucinations.

I reckon I must've gone to the wrong one every year. Didn't go to either in 92 or 93. Saw a loss in 94, 2 losses in 95, a loss in 96, a loss in 97, we beat them in 98 but I missed that match, lost in 99. Remember I had been playing junior footy the day we beat Carlton in the year 2000.cooldewd wrote:We beat them in at least once a year every year in 1992/93/94, so your first ten games against Carlton cannot all have been losses.
I worked it out. The first time I saw Collingwood beat Carlton was in round 6 of 2001. I definitely remember that game.

they have the mid field and forward line to beat us IF we are not switched on, have injuries or kick like we did against syd.
Im not overly confident..............then again I never am and hate carlton more than any team.
Only thing I am certain about is,
3 vote C Judd
