PietillIdie :D I doubt they are going to take the finals lightly. When you have competitive leaders like Ball Pendles Swan Maxwell and Heath (when he gets back) They will make sure the rest are up to it. The First half did us a lot of good as they had to play against a little self doubt.
I was more trying to read MM than anything else, Mossi. Check out the press conference; that was probably the most irritated he's been with the team all season.

SPOT ON. My good mate Ari said the same exact thing as we left the ground, we put in a sleepy half hearted effort like that awful first qtr-and we did the same against the crows too a few weeks back-in the Finals, say v the hawks, and we could be in deep poo. BUT, this is the best Pies team i have seen, and no doubt come the finals we will be totally focused and rampant and ready to unleash the mother of all games.
I would have counted the game as lost 12 months ago.

We are that good a side... Swans unselfish play to Sinclair shows just where we are at re supporting each other.

Just listened to MM post match press conference, I see where your coming from. No matter how understanding you can be as a Coach. A Coach must say a spade is a spade. Personally I don't mind if the team is a little off prior to finals as long as they bring there A game come finals

And some of those 4 goals were terrific kicks. Their efficiency by foot was incredible early on. Hit every target. I know the injures had a effect, but I dont think they could keep that up for an entire game. We may not have won by 12 goals, but I think we still would have got over the top of them.
I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.

Anything Mick says at post match press conferences is for the benefit of his players - he doesn't say it to make the other team feel better.

Bomberblitz 'we would of won if we had a full squad'...

Dawes, Wellingham, Shaw, Toovey, Thomas... Those names don't ring a bell?

Brown and Didak are well covered by their replacements so I don't count them.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey, we want some Bayley!

I'll give them credit for having a go early. But the minute we got our tackling up and started to work strongly, the front runners in their side went to the kiddy pond. They will be a force in the coming years. But we have too much on them for talent and team work . A good win , but we cant let any side jump out of the blocks like that again, the handbaggers , hawks or the scum would be harder to reel in.

Just finished watching the replay and boy the umps were shite!

So many missed free kicks.........so many free kicks that were NOT there!

What was with the 50 paid against Taz?? Both he and his opponent running flat out ump blows whistle to pay mark and a second later pings Taz for going over the mark didn't even give him a chance to pull up! He then goes on to tell Taz he went 4 metres over the mark.....faaarrrrkme!

The missed front on contact to Cloke attempting to mark in the first was another howler. How could all three umpires not see it is beyond me.

And whats going on with the advantage rule?? in the second when Leon gave away the free to Jetta (which I don't think was a free....more like a shepard of a player trying to take a mark) The Bummer player I think it was Hille played on but the umpire brings it back to Jetta......the rule is a dogs breakfast!

In the third leon takes a mark and Jetta clearly runs through the mark but not penalised........I saw this from more than 100m away why cant the umps see this.

And the free to Jolly at the top of the square in the third was the softest free kick he would have recieved in his 200 game career! I have virtulaly seen him being arse raped by defenders with their both hands on his shoulders and get nothing!

The umpiring is just shizen ATM!

Umpiring was shit, yet we ended up with more frees than them. I'd rather the free kicks were even than lopsided (unless one team is playing the man, not the ball).

1eyedpie, what about the one where Leon was going for the mark and was tunneled by Jetta and Jetta got the free.

So with us playing bottom of the ladder Port next week and the chances of us losing is highly unlikely the question has to be asked......

When was the last time we won 11 in a row?

Yea I mentioned it a page or so back.

And did you notice the Bummer player I think it was Hille took the advantage but then the Ump called it back.

To me it was border line sheparding a player from taking the mark!
