Me? Certainly not! For starters, I would never say "seagull", I would identify the species properly as a "Silver Gull" or a "Kelp Gull" or (oh happy day!) as a "Black-headed Gull" - one of these last-mentioned turns up somewhere in Australia perhaps once or twice in an average year.

PS: The other day, some complete ignoramus actually thought my avatar was a seagull! Ever seen a gull with a short, hooked bill? Farnarkle me - with powers of observation that acute, the poster in question (who can remain entirely nameless here because (a) I never betray a confdence and (b) I forgot who it was already) is looking good for a very large surprise when he (or she) finally gets around to noticing that some people wear trousers and other people wear skirts and that there is a sort of a difference. Might take another couple of decades though.

PPS: It wasn't you was it?

PPS: What is a "Sheedy"? I've looked it up in my birder's field guides but I can't find it anywhere. Should I try looking in a mammal book, under the genus Rattus perhaps?

Saw a headline on The Advertiser "Power vs Magpies" : "Game On!"

Had to chuckle to myself.

...glad they THINK it'll be some form of contest. ;)

Was quite suprised with the amount of Collingwood in the paper, none on the TV though

Although no one in town is expecting anything other than an annihilation, but it may not be that bad given AAMI looks like it will be under water tomorrow night at this rate :(

The rain was pretty heavy before but I'm expecting it to be clearer skies tomorrow.

Magpies to cause Power Blackout

Post by accountabilityPlease »

The only Power to be present this weekend will be generated via diesel at best after we ensure there's only one true Magpies and ensure The Life SupPORT's will suffer a Blackout!

Who made the long trip to backwater1 and therefore who else made the shorter trip to backwater2 for today's 10am VFL game?

Heading off to Kardinia Park soon to see the twos.

A mate who is battling has asked me over to watch the game tonight so Ive scuttled the plans to drive to Adelaide to watch it live.

Quite happy that Wood is back in. He is the number one back up to Jolly and must be kept in 'touch' with senior football.

Dids will be cherry ripe- people can be very fickle and the guy played with a torn pectoral muscle for the last 6 weeks of 2010 to get us over the line. I am expecting a BIG month or two of footy from the number 4.

Thomas will show why he will be such an asset to OUR club moving forward by racking up a lazy 30 possessions tonight.

People might do well to observe how well Blair attacks the ball tonight; this kid will probably keep McCaffer out this year.

Port have been hit badly by injury and should be an easy kill.

The weather forecast in Adelaide is reasonable tonight so Im tipping a 13 goal win.
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

Realised 'game on' wasn't a headline. It's what the liftout is called.

All the articles in today's paper relevant to the match are about Chad Cornes. There's even a poster: whoo ! *sarcasm*

Anyway... off to the Barossa for the day and then onwards to AAMI stadium.

Go pies!

No MaCaffer in the VFL today, so there could be a late change, or he could have just flown over to SA as cover.

Rumours about both Jolly and Maxwell being late outs, both can not be true now.

Courtesy of Marcus Wagner, our Football Technology Manager, the forecast is 15 degrees. Apparently it has been a bit showery out there...

Dids and Daisy back, Taz playing number 250, I am stoked! Go Pies!
