It's amazing how our perceptions of ourselves change with our circumstances, and thank God that they do.

"You get this money and you feel like, `what if I don`t get a kick?` and stuff like that. It wasn`t so much that, but there were all these little things mounting up. Football`s always been my life, and I needed a break from it."
"There were some long hours in that car driving back, lot of thoughts going through my head. I was thinking, `Am I making the right decision?` I was pretty convinced by the time I got there I had done the right thing. I felt so relaxed and free, the pressure was off me even though I hadn`t actually told anyone."

"I've always been able to handle pressure pretty well. I mean, I'm a pretty relaxed sort of person, on and off the field I suppose. I don't get caught up in too much hype. I realise where my football's at and if the media sort of pump me up or whatever, that's their point of view, but I know where I'm at."

The new Chris Tarrant

Boy thats a troublesome contradiction however I do remeber reading that initial interview with him after his walkout. I think he has certainly matured weather it be forced by circumastances or natrual maturity, time will tell. Either way he is pivotal to our structure and a possible future leader.
He will become certainly a high profile personality in the years to come so this sought of situation should be looked at as a stepping stone...there is no doubt we are moulding him to be that next'franchise' (americanisim...I know) player at collingwood once Buckley gets on in years, dare i say retirement
(heaven forbid). Expectation/Pressure will go hand in hand and ultimatley thats what proves a players longevity in the game,ie his ability to cope with it. .........Chrissy Talent....u da man!!!
