They were just talking to James Kelly on SEN who said that Cameron Mooney will definitely retire at the end of this season and that Cameron Ling and Darren Milburn are likely to retire but haven't announced anything yet.
I think it's clear from the amount of players that will retire at the end of this year or next year that Geelong is fading. But they'll no doubt wanna give it a hell of a crack this year.
Matthew Scarlett surely wouldn't have much left in him?

I'm hoping Matty is strong enough to be the platform for yet another Chris Tarrant speccy. Of course, I realise Taz probably doesn't have another leap like that left in him but I would so love to see it just once more.tomoleary wrote:They were just talking to James Kelly on SEN who said that Cameron Mooney will definitely retire at the end of this season and that Cameron Ling and Darren Milburn are likely to retire but haven't announced anything yet.

Time to get our A graders playing together. Welcome back Bally, Taz and Welly although I hear that Maxy is a realistic chance to return. Dawes will be better for the run. Would love to finish on 21 wins, having beaten every team.

It's a more realistic aspiration than the one Daisy had against the Bears a fortnight ago - he kept trying to take speccies over Travis and that was NEVER going to happen. After that, I'm actually a little surprised Travis let him live long enough to get suspended by the MRP the following week.tomoleary wrote:It's been a while since a backman has taken a decent hanger Pies4Shaw!
Silvagni? I remember he took a big one once.
Anyway, secretly I still harbour the belief that Taz is our most effective medium-tall forward and will be released forward to dramatic effect on 1 October 2011. This belief was ever-so-slightly dented by him deciding not to touch the ball ("Right in front of me!") for the whole of the first quarter of the Bears game - but I am satisfied that was just a trick by MM to make sure that the other coaches don't expect it.
As for Silvagni - I don't recall him doing anything, ever - it's a tragedy that you do.

Whichever team gets a 3-4 goal break will go on to win the game.
Neither team will exert a come from behind win when the result will not change where either team will finish.
Get the feeling we will witness Circle work training.

All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

It has been 15 years since Brisbane were known as the Bears. The AFL took over the ownership after Fitzroy had gone bankrupt and folded up. Henceforth, they're known as the Brisbane Lions, not the Bears. Keep up with the times instead of the time machine Pies4Shaw.

They are the Bears, Fitzroy do not exist. It wasn't a merge it was an AFL instigated takeover. The Lions do not exist along with North Melbourne and Footscray.JC Hartley wrote:It has been 15 years since Brisbane were known as the Bears. Chris Scott talking up the game on Friday night as not to significant and flagging multiple changes to there lineup.
It's going to be interesting to see how both sides go about treating this match which in reality is a dead rubber.
P.S-There is something about C.Scott that really gets under my skin.
Still the same arrogant c%$t like in his Brisbane days.
