Our forward press has been non existent for the majority of the season.

Hell Essendon earlier in the season did it better than we have all year.

Hopefully we can switch it on now that it's needed and players like Krakouer, Blair, Sidebottom and Fasolo have enough strength to stick the tackles.

Dawes, Leroy and Cloke will all need to work there backsides off within our f50 during the final series for us to go back to back IMO.

A player like Macaffer would be handy right now.

The love of the jumper is why we're all here mate.
The love of the jumper is why Daisy signed up for a further 2yrs.

It was not for the love of the jumper that Ward signed up with GWS earlier today.

Our jumper is what makes us the best!

I don't think we've even implemented the forward press much of the season. You'd have to ask why - perhaps leaving it for the finals? But, can we just turn it on like a tap?

Re: Caff, apparently he was very good in our practice match last Friday. There is a chance he will play.

Regarding selection for this match I have a feeling the captain will not be selected and the club will be hoping we advance to the prelim which will give him a further two weeks to heal.........just my gut feel.

Having said that I don't think we have seen the end of seeing the anvil in the back half! A big call I know but the club wouldn't have invested the last few weeks with him back their without having a task for him this weekend.

The Weegirls have the likes of
Kennedy = Taz
Lynch = Leroy
NicNat/Cox = Reid
Darling = Goldsack

The last time we played them IIRC they/we had Lynch on Reid and the big Q seemed to scrag/block Reid a lot to stop him from picking off the high ball coming in.

I'm sure we won't let that happen again hence my gut feel that Leroy will line up down back again at least for this week!

Heater and Maj are automatic inclusions and assuming that Taz/Cloke/Johnno and Goldy all are fit to play you would assume that Sinclair and Wood will come out.

This would leave us with one tall forward short and the majority of the rucking left to Jolly but I have a sneaky suspicion that wood might be given a reprieve for one more week, this would mean someone like Fas might come out!

Apparently Malthouse hinted that one of Shaw, Maxwell or Davis may miss.

It will be Maxwell. By all reports he did protect the injured hand a lot in that practice match.

History shows MM will not take injured players into finals!

If Maxwell doesn't play this week not sure he should play again this season to be honest.

Massive gamble to be taking a player into a prelim final(hopefully) who hadn't played in many weeks and whose thumb may still not have healed properly.

Big call either way, one that if we get it wrong has the potential to cost us a GF berth.

That's a definite no Jack.

I expect a massive response this week.

I hope the forward press is implemented this week.

If we win would the club organize another scratch match for the injured players during the week off?

Enough with the pissing and the moaning after Friday. Done and forgotten. Time to get into search and destroy mode. And we will. Time to show why we are the flag favorites and one of the best teams the game has ever seen.
I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords

This.

Over all the Doomsayers.... we are on top for a reason- look at the form ladder over the last six weeks- which club is CLEARLY on top.....???

Oh that's right... Collingwood.....

Shaw and Davis in.

Maxwell and Thomas back for the preliminary final.

Malthouse to bow out a mega-heroic Collingwood icon.
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

The emergence of Wood as a decent 2nd ruck has me now thinking that he'll play alongside Jolly in our finals campaign.

This would mean that Leroy will most probably keep his spot this week, at the expense of Maxwell, as an extra defender against the Eagles. If (hopefully) Leon and Heater return this week, I don't think Maxwell will get a game. However, if/when we beat the Eagles, this will give Maxy's thumb another 2 weeks to be fully healed, allowing us to bring him back along with Daisy for the Prelim.
