MAGPIE MAIL
Magpie Mail has been less than successful. I'm not sure why, it could be any of a number of reasons, but I'm not ready to give up on it yet.
One of the problems may be price resistance and I can do something about that. From this point on Magpie Mail membership will be $10 /year. There will be no contributions to other organisations, but, other than that, there will be no reduction in the services offered.
I can't afford to refund the difference in membership price to existing members (who have paid $25), but I can reward their support. We have created a new membership class, Foundation Membership. This membership is exclusive to those people who are currently supporting our efforts and will not be available to new members. Foundation Members will never have to renew their subscription, they are, in effect, life members.
Existing members should not feel nervous about the future of the service - Magpie mail will continue indefinitely. The expenses involved in running the service are mainly those associated with recruiting new members - credit card gateway fees, banking arrangements etc. So if we run out of money we will stop recruiting and leave the service to look after the existing members, which it can do at minimal cost.
I'd like to thank those of you who have supported us in this enterprise, you can't possibly understand what that support has meant to us.

AWESOME, I'm a 'life member'! Also, I was the very first person to sign up for MAGPIE MAIL! I just had to point that out
I just can't believe that Magpie Mail hasn't been the success it should have been. I for one am BLOODY proud to use my magpies e-mail account. Come on people, sign up! 10 bucks a year is f*ck-all!!
To Mike and the rest of the crew, Keep up the brillant work!!

I'd like to contribute as well Mike. On several occasions since using my new address, other magpie followers have replied to me declared their allegiance to the club. I have just completed a trade(live music cdr) with a fellow from Horsham Vic. who has on his wall a 1990 t-shirt signed by Mick McGuane and Darren Millane. I never would have known that if it wasn't for my Magpie e-mail. I really do appreciate what you and Nick do for us. It's a small price to pay.

Broadie and Swanny
I've been involved in Clubs and organisations all my life and it doesn't seem to matter whether it's the local sewing circle or the mighty Collingwood Football Club, the same people always put their hands up.
I really appreciate your offer and if I need to I will take advantage of it, but I ask that you leave the decision to me. I'm not risking a fortune by doing this, we really don't have many subscribers, and I would like to show my gratitude in some way.
