LICURIA
It is great to see the much maligned Licuria string together a couple of good games. The best thing is how his disposal has improved. Even under pressure now I expect him to find a target, that was not so last year. Congratulations to the coaching staff and to Paul himself for doing the hard work required.

Lets not get carried away with his disposal, it's still very ordinary and if u want evidence just watch the first two games especially the dockers game where he cost us 3 goals.
But i have to admit he's endeavour is great this year and he's getting a lot of the hard stuff but so too did jason wild and where has he gone too.
He's still not in our best 22 as i would still put Adkins , Scotland ,Neon ,Shaw and even Wasa just for u Joffa in b4 him .
And little Mags i've been hear all along keeping myself amused at ur astute football knowledge.

Thanks God I scrolled down and saw Big Poppa Pump's comment.
Lica did some good things on Sat, but HIS disposal is still our biggest turnover problem. He wins tha ball a lot - Hooray. But his turnover rate is so high that in some games I wish he wouldn't win the ball, as it causes our players to run forward, leaving their men: the same men who Lica then often kicks to.

Why do we persist with using this guy as a sweeper across our backline.
I cringe everytime he touches the ball as he continually turns it over.
Anyone who disagrees is kidding themselves as he again cost us 2 goals and it could've been more if essendon kicked straight.
Sure you may say that Josh and Lonie also made some crucial errors but they don't do it week after week like this guy.
Anyone can pick up easy posssesions roaming free across half back but his possessions only hurt us not the opposition.
We will make no progress if we keep playing him as we have been in winning positions every game this year and only our turnovers have cost us from being 5-0.

If it wasn't for clangers the opposition would hardly get a score. I bet 50% of goals are due to someone's mistake rather than just perfect play. The more possessions you get the more chance you'll stuff up particularly if you try to be creative or mis-read what your teammate is about to do. The risk is you get TOO conscious of mistakes if you pick someone out to criticise. Because of this discussion I did the same on the W/E...thinking Oh No Licuria has made an error. Then I settled down and put it in perspective...hell he got the hard ball lots of times....if we NEVER make mistakes we'll win the Premiership. Let's ram home a few more 10 goal quarters...then we won't care about the occasional clanger. Keep at it and one day it will all just click!
There's a big difference in Buckley turnovers and Licuria ones. Buckley plays on the ball where most of his clangers occur. Basically straight from a ball up he hardly has time to pinpoint a pass to a teammate and sometimes unfortunately they may go to the opposition. However with Bucks, at least he puts it into our 50 which doesnt damage us as much. However Licuria has a lot more time to think of what he's going to do with the ball and his turnovers are usually costly.
