Rotation Cost Us

Post by Member »

Hi All,

Even though it's a shame we lost I think two crucial injuries to two midfield players actually cost us the game.

The players I am talking about are Chad Rintoul and Carl Steinfort.

Steinfort was doing a great job on Caracella. As soon as we lost him Caracella came into the game in the third term.
All of our midfielders started to tire in the third term and hence let essendon back into the game.

It was our inability to rotate fresh legs in the midfield that cost us in the end.

It frustrates me that we cop at least two injuries a game.
we just don't have the depth to replace players at this stage.

Forget about the mistakes by fraser and lonie, we forget we were up by 18 points in the third quarter.

This team will be top 6 in a years time.

You can add David Wirripunda to the list of potential recruits next year.

I have heard that he struggles with shin splints and playing on hard surfaces causes this injury to inflame.
The word is that he needs to play on softer grounds such as in Melbourne.

I am not saying he will be coming to collingwood but if he doesn't sign a contract with west coast next month my mail is that he will like to play for a coach that he loves and admires.

Guess which coach? You heard it here first.

Err...Rintoul broke his leg. Perhaps we can excuse his benching?

Love the potential news on Wirrpunda. Wirrpunda would complement young Lonie quite well

Member - Sorry I didn't see this topic earlier. I totally agree that we were left short when we didn't have hte fresh legs to bring on in the 3rd quarter when Collingwood began to tire. But that has more to do with injuries than not having the depth (I think).
