Underrated: Tarks

Post by biodave »

Robert Walls' of the Age listed the most underrated players at each club a few weeks back. Although Licuria was suggested as a potentionally dangerous player, I believe that Tark's deserved a mention. Thus far, his disposal has been excellent and he's good on both sides of the body- 'Buckleyesque'. I wasnt quite sure how many possessions he accumulated against Essendon, but he was highly efficient when he got his hands on the footy. From Weds nites' Coll Club Corner on sport927, I learnt that he is the modest, self-effacing type of player at Collingwood, who does his job on a consistent basis. His hard work has reaped alot of praise from the coaching staff, who have awarded him a spot in the leadership group. I've nothing but respect for Tarkyn Lockyer- a great role model both on and off the field.

Love the 'pies and...

bless their courageous hearts

Totally agreed Dave he always puts in 110%.

I saw a lot of pre-season training this year and the way Tarks went about it was excellent. You could tell he had done a heap of work on all aspects of his game over summer especially his pace.

agree, agree, agree,
but it would be nice to see him looking and finding some long options occassionally, just to complement his spotless 20 to 40 metre kicking.

Actually reminded me of a young D Barwick the way he bullocked, marked strongly and kicked so truly against Essendon.

And I think he'll acheive an even greater legendary status...bug call, but he's shown a huge amount over the past two years. And his verstitlity at playing back - midefield- forward is phenomenal (as long as MM doesn't play him on Farmer again!).

Is there a spare $1.5m to ensure he stays over the next 4 years?
