Player sponsorship 2012 - Peter Yagmoor is our man!

Post by Dark Beanie »

Over the past couple of years Nicks has sponsored a player.

Nicks sponsored players have been Nick Maxwell, Jack Anthony & our last sponsored player in 2010 was Brent Macaffer.

Unfortunately last year sponorship did not get up and running but if you wish to contribute this year, please indicate your interest in the player sponsorship forum

http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=65556

No minimum individual contribution required but lowest level of sponsorship - Player of the Future - is $1800.

Timelines for application and money are quite tight, so register your interest ASAP.

The money doesn't go to the player, it goes to the club. Go to the sponsorship board and click on the link to the club and read about it.

It's a way of getting a personal experience. You sponsor a player, you get access to a special range of benefits including gear, dinners and events, and usually get some access to that player at said dinners and events.

The cost is a min of $1800, if Nicks sponsors a player (which we have done in the past but missed last year) then a bunch of us all cough up the money.

We get a certificate from the club to say we're a sponsor and the special stuff usually gets put into a raffle scenario where the people who coff up get their names put in a hat. Whether the person who kicks in $50 gets their name put in the hat the same number of times as the person who kicks in $200 depends on how socialist the organiser is feeling that day.

I went to the Presidents dinner at an Etihad game a couple of years ago which was a hoot.

I repeat, follow the links and read. Come back to me if you have any questions.

BTW, as I said in the sponsorship thread, I'm in if we can get it up.

Hi everyone,

We are trying to get our player sponsorship up and running again this year but we still need more of Nicks Members to be involved.

If you can contribute (anything from $10 upwards is great) then go to the following thread (or send me a PM) to let me know how much you can contribute.

All the items we receive from the Club as part of the sponsorship are raffled off between all those involved - so there are some great prizes to win. And of course there is just the fun of being involved and also doing something for our Club.

We can't go ahead until we know we have enough money to cover the sponsorship cost but we will need to advise the Club ASAP whether we are going ahead or not - so please let me know as soon as you can if you would like to contribute.

THANKS!

Marg :D

And have a look at this thread to see the categories and players we can choose from. Usually we go for a Player of The Future - so any suggestions on who you would like to sponsor can go in the thread below:

A quick update.

Have spoken to the Club and we are still able to sponsor a player for this year - the only players unavailable now are Pendles, Dale Thomas, Jarrod Witts, Steele Sidebottom and Chris Dawes. I'm assuming this list will grow in coming weeks!

Head to the following thread if you have a preferred player you'd like us to sponsor (choose from players listed).

UPDATE 26FEB12

Okay, so we are just over $400 short of sponsoring a player of the future for $1800.

Would love for as many of Nicks Members to be involved as we can. As litle as $10 is enough to be involved and every $10 you contribute gives you a ticket into every sponsorship raffle.

In the past if we have ended up with slightly more money than needed, we have bought some CFC merchandise for extra raffle prizes. Will see how we go this year.

Please post if you can contribute - or send me a PM as soon as possible - so we can confirm whether we can participate in the player sponsorship this year or not.

Thanks,
Marg

UPDATE 29Feb12

Hi guys, I think we're almost there. If anyone would still like to participate please let me know ASAP, as I don't want to confirm with the Club until I know for sure we have enough people interested (and can raise the full amount needed).

I will see how we go this week, and then on the weekend I will do a final tally and can then advise the Club we are going ahead - and give everyone banking/payment details at that point as well.

Thanks to all those who've replied.

Marg
