Rohan - there is "putting another side" and there is "stirring in the hope of causing trouble". You seem to very much be in the second category. Everything you post seems designed to simply "get a reaction", and not in a positive sense.
Eddie is the reason this club has finally turned around after a decade of decline and misery. Look at the team (off-field) HE is largely responsible for having assembled. Then have a look at the on-filed team that that group has assembled.
Anyone who is really behind this club cannot argue with that, unless of course they're pre-occupied with creating rifts for the sake of creating rifts.

Ed,
It's good to see a curtain raiser which will be good for a change. Also good good that we're gonna hear Barnsey on Sunday, gosh if we left the pre match entertainment to Carlton we'd be watching The Seekers or something. I'm not so keen on you'll never walk alone being played as it's a Liverpool song and I follow Leeds but I guess thats ok as after all I'm there to see the footy and sing our song at the end of the game, however something like jump in my car would be goood to hear I can't wait for Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No conflict of interest: McGuire by STAFF REPORTERS
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has again been forced to deny conflict-of-interest claims over his multi-faceted roles in football and the media.
Interviewed by himself on the Footy Show on Thursday night, McGuire was unrepentant. "Look it's not confusing for anybody,"
he told himself. "I think the audience knows which hat I'm wearing whenever I speak."
Triple M's Eddie McGuire picked up on the story the next day, and pressed the Collingwood president further on the issue.
McGuire left the Magpie rooms at half-time of the match and faced some heated questioning from McGuire in the commentary
box, but McGuire again told himself that he could see 'no problem' in his roles.
"I just can't understand what all the fuss is about," he reassured himself. "If there's ever a potential conflict, I just
ban me from talking to myself, or even thinking about myself, and it's all OK."
McGuire's views seemed to gain independent support the following day when an exclusive interview with Eddie McGuire appeared
on the Collingwood web site. He, too, said he could see no room for confusion.
McGuire, winner of the first five weeks of the Tipstar competition, reaffirmed his stance later when he appeared as a
contestant on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?', where he walked away with $500,000. The host of the program, Eddie McGuire,
said he was pleased to see the cash go to such a deserving winner.

this so called "conflict of interest" (a term i'm tired of hearing) is a joke. For starters every media personality who has some connection with a footy club (esp. past players) should be classified under this if Ed is! anyway all of Ed's football media roles (maybe except the heraldsun column - which honestly is more of a social column anyway) involve a team of contributers from different backgrounds. So if there is an issue which arises at Collingwood then any of these other personal are welcome, and often do, raise it, as has the man himself on many occasions. The term conflict on interest is an overused term that gets bandied about for the sake of it... Ed always acts on truth and from his professional upbringing in the media always acts on proven sources that are thoroughly checked which is more than I can say for many other so called footy media personal "experts" out there. Many of these are only there because of the name they have established in their sporting career regardless of the fact that their reporting skills and behind the seens knowledge is shite. Guys like Eddie, Bruce, Quarters etc (no the etc does not include Mike Sheehan) are a credit to the football media industry and without them who knows what type of hog-wash issues would be making the front pages. If the facts are there - then expect Eddie to report on them.

Rohan - don't stir...you remind me of the past at Collingwood. Ed has done better than ANY other President at Collingwood in a LONG LONG time. Everytime someone rebutts your point you seem to come up with another...GET OVER IT!!!
We aren't going to take your opinion anymore than that we would of ANY other Collingwood supporter. Ed has done alot for the club it is about time you just remember this and think about the future!!

Joel, no problem - but that quote can actually be accredited to Joffa.
I think the only solution to this debate is to give me a creative development deal with Channel 9 and a position on the Board at Carlton so I can institute my plan to delist all their players and recruit 38 pygmies from New Guinea to take their spots.
While everybody may ask how this solution could possibly help, all I can say is that it wouldn't hurt (me)!

Rohan, get used to it mate. There aint too many presidents out there that when they walk passed their supporters they get a standing ovation. This guy is the best thing that has happened to this club since sliced bread (I wonder what was the best thing before they sliced bread - hmmm, anyway). If Ed wants to I am sure he will be the Prez for a very long time when you see the support he gets.
Well done Ed, and thanks for giving up your valuable time to speak to us. Cheers.
Go Pies!!

Onya Ed. Keep up the good work. I don't wanna have to wait another 21 years for another premiership. I admire the hard work you are putting in to rebuild our grand club. Don't let the mongrels get in your way.
I don't get down to Melbourne that often but I'll be there to cheer on the Pies against Melbourne on the June long weekend.
COLLINGWOOD FOREVER
