The holding the ball / incorrect disposal is still not right. They will pay holding the ball when some poor bugger is sitting on top of it with three other guys on top of him.

Yet when tackled players are just letting the ball go. Umpires will let it go in the interest of keeping the ball going. I agree with this in principle but players are milking it.There was a free against Goldie last night when this happened and the dog player had it for a bit of time. Clearly incorrect disposal but free was against Goldie because he hung on!

Just crap.

For me, having been smashed by the umpires like that, makes winning all the more satisfying.

The umps have to be investigated for match fixing. It was so blatant that they were trying to influence the game outcome. Cheating by the umps was there for all to see last night, it stood out like the sun in a clear sky. The free against Keeffe in our forward line was a clear example of "cash-for-matches". How can the umps just let the game go when the ball is deep in our fwd 50, and a chance of a Collingwood goal? They can't, there's money riding on the outcome of the game. Give the free to the non Collingwood player, don't hesitate! CHEATS absolute CHEATS

Why do they change the way they umpire from week-to-week? Aren't the rules there to be adhered to? This week we'll pay holding the ball on everything, next week we'll be 50/50 on holding the ball, this week we'll be whistle happy, next week we'll let the game go. FMD AFL, it's time to remove the stain from the game.

Strip back the rules so the game goes back to resembling Aussie rules football FFS! This non contact, over-officiating rot has got to stop. Get rid of the current rules committee and umpiring dept (not the umps themselves) and start again.

Also, just throw the ball up, it'd be the most sensible thing to do, wouldn't it? I forgot, the AFL rarely do things on a sensible level.

Go the Pies

It was really 21-7 frees in my book. They always try to level it when the game's done. Prior to Harry's goal they paid an unnecessary free (advantage) behind play to Goldsack, and did so in defensive 50 in the dying stages when we already had the ball free, to try to 'square the ledger'. Oh, and count how long Maxwell had to release the ball in the final minutes after a mark...5 freakin' seconds!!! Count it. He marked at 0:50 on the clock, and was called for play-on at the 0:45. WTF?!?

I've watched the game TWICE now. I still get angry at the non-calls to Collingwood. It is seriously cheating, whether sub-conscious or other. We must work twice as hard to win games of footy. We didn't notice it last year so much cos we were smashing teams. No matter what the umpires did, we were too good. Now, a closer contest, and their influence is back on show for all to see.
