thats right i was spewing because i knew that they would do this as they do every week. Was a great win boys and i was very proud to wear my maggie scarf round the city today but farkin hell droping off in the last quarter like Collingwood regularly does is hardly good for percentage. Thank god we got the 4 points but!!! well done boys

I think you can put it down to inexperience. Most of them are still very young and inexperienced and need to be shown the way in some situations. But it is something we should gradually improve at over time. You gotta take into account the class of the opposition as well.As much as we hate Carlscum, they're still a very good team which makes it an even more important win.I couldn't help thinking while watching Carlscum hit the front that this would be a good opportunity to see whether the players really learnt anything during their preseason leadership courses and show us they did.

I'm glad it happened exactly the way it happened. By dominating the match and then almost letting it slip away and having to fight back again to win, they grew in stature as a team. They gained a lot more from that win than they gained from the flogging of Carlton in Round 3 last year.

I really felt they would fight back after Carlton hit the front. A lot of people were looking despondent. The guy in front of me looked like he was about to smash all the seats in the vicinity. So I told him to forget about smashing seats and channel all his anger into chanting. We then started up an awesome rendition of:

THE MAGPIES
UNITED
WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED

I'd like to think that it was our chant that turned the game back our way.

It probably wasn't ... but let's not let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Just remember:

THE MAGPIES
UNITED
WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED

My heart dropped around my ankles when Carlscum kicked the 1st 4 goals of the final quarter to hit the lead. I felt that if we lost it from being over 5 goals up during the 3rd quarter, it would really demoralise us and be determantal to us in our re-building process.

But thanks to the young guys we just stuck in there and came away with a great win. Congratulations to all the boys for a great effort and a win.......now its time to focus on the Kangas next week....don't even giv'em a sniff Pies.

I think every Collingwood Supporter was nervous in the last quarter. When the final siren went I never heard it, The Cheer was too loud from all the Collingwood Supporters at the G. I agree with Alf, It is better winning like that against Carlton cos they are Bastards and they needed to be broken. I am glad we won by 8 points instead of flogging them. It made me feel better in the end because all the Carlton supporters got the sniff of victory and then were devastated when we won.
GO PIESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep on chanting!!!

Great win...I absolutely shat myself though when Carlton kicked those goals. I knew it was going to happen for some reason but then felt we would come back and win...luckily we did.
