Anyone

I have read all this great stuff about how well our guys are developing in our re-building phase and i get excited at the thought of winning our next premiership. I cant't wait to shed some more tears as I did in '90.

Does anyone have any thoughts on when we will be in a position to have a realistic crack at another premiership? Will the coach be MM and will the captain be Bucks?

I don't know if it's bad form to talk about this sort of stuff, but who cares.

I really hope Bucks will still be skipper when we achieve some success (finals or whatever) because he's put up with some bad seasons and stuck by the club even when Port would have paid him a packet to leave. He deserves success more than any other player in the history of the AFL (in my opinion).

On the MM "form clock" or whatever he calls it, I would say the pies are at about 9 o'clock - what does everyone else think?

we've beat carlton and ran essendon pretty close. if we make the finals and the draw falls our way, you never know the flag may be as close as this year. there's no reason why it's not possible and crazier things have happened.

As TC's said, we just lost to Essendon (but should've won) and have beaten Carlton. We've just lost to Richmond and Hawthorn and they're right up there in the Top 4. We have Port in Adelaide in a fortnight, which I think will be a good measuring stick of where we stand in the Competition. But first we have to bury, kick dirt over and mark the grave of the Kangaroos.

Providing we keep the fitness up and don't fall away like last Season, anything's possible - Premierships have been won by Teams in lesser positions, (like Adelaide in 97).

To actually WIN a premiership history suggests you have to be around the mark for two or three years...appearing in the finals...maybe getting to a preliminary or grand final...and usually losing. Then the magic happens. One day the experience and skills gell on the night and you're Premiers. (Unless you're Geelong)

My assessment is that we are building ourselves up at the RIGHT moment, with the RIGHT President, the RIGHT Coach and the RIGHT players. Our Collingwood Bill of RIGHTS

Why is it the right moment? Because we have one club that is a street ahead of everyone else, while some are sinking into oblivion others are climbing up from it. I think between 16th and 3rd there may only be 2 or 3 games difference by the end of the year.

Collingwood seems to have the most exciting crop of young recruits I can remember in a long while, so when Essendon gets tired of winning premierships, (maybe 3 or 4), then we should be just about ready to take over.

yeah and carlton got in the GF the other year when they bet essendon by a point (haha).
collingwood and hawthorn have the best young teams and we'll be good as, its just starting now but next year those dicko reporters wont be predicting us to be last or close to it.
