They also say that Carlton deny any meetings taking place, and no offer has been made to Cloke.

You would have thought any media outlet that ran that story would have investigated more and not released a story that was false.
Looking at those two articles, the Cloke camp met with Carlton once. I bet most of the other clubs have too probably. Apart from that fact, there is litle of substance in these articles apart from a lot of innuendo guarenteed to get some Collingwood fans frothing at the mouth, and increase Murdoch rag's circulations.

I think you've all been played by the Murdoch Press. Congratulations.
I said it earlier and will say it again... You've all been had... But don't expect the Murdochs' to respect you in the morning. They'll just print more BS to get you all going all over again.

Really 15 pages of hysterical BS by people who should know better by now....

I hadn't bothered to read the article, parts of it popped up in the facebook newsfeed and I just thought "meh" it seems the same old when an article on Cloke pops up I've grown to not even bother reading any of it now.

Apparently Cloke knocked back an offer from Freo for $5.5 million over five years.

Talk about delusions of grandeur. I'd be very angry if the club paid that sort of money and we had to cut Beams and a few others loose. very angry indeed.

You know Lance Franklin comes up for contract renewal soon. Why don't we spend that sort of money to get a real goal kicker?

He's already done us damage. I'd be telling him to take a reduced offer of no more than $700,000 or piss off.

Actually, I'd just tell him to piss off.

He was one of my favourite players, but he has treated our club disgracefully.

Bucks was right.... Hes done some serious damage to the cloke 'brand'.... Look how many of us are dirty on him.

The club is bigger than any individual, and this is proof.

I'm hearing that the club is offering Cloke 750,000 to 800,000 a year at most, but Cloke and his father are asking for 900,000 a year for a 4 year contract.

Currently, how much is Cloke being paid annually at the moment?

The club and the concerned parties have to sort this out before it gets even more out of hand, because as a club we don't want to go into September with distractions and issues regarding contracts of players. We need to know where Cloke is at in regards to what he wants, because other players such as Beams and Reid also need to re-sign with the club and we need to know how much we can offer them to stay at the club. For us to offer the other players contracts we need to know where Cloke fits into the salary cap of the club.

I think as a club we have to get used to the fact that this kind of situation will be happening annually due to free agency. Next year everyone will be asking why Daisy hasn't re-signed with the club.

I am really tiring of the Cloke saga.

If he could kick a goal, maybe he has a case to ask for more money. If I recall he had a chance on Friday night to kick an important goal and missed. Misses too many in my opinion. A Buddy Franklin, - I don't think so.

The best part of the Cloke saga today was this quote:

Dayne Beams is understood to be close to agreeing to terms

I agree 100% on what Grant Thomas said.

What did hutchy mean when he said the Beams has Signed but they won't announce and use it against Cloke?
