While Dawes continues to be pathetic, Cloke will struggle. We have no legitimate second forward to take any pressure of Cloke.
That say two things, Dawes has been disappointing, and Cloke is not as good as he thinks. He will never be a Wayne Carey-esque dominating CHF.

Get rid of him and look for a new player/structure that will work up forward.
Cloke has been appalling and his body language is pathetic. He looks like the unhappiest bloke in the world and it's all his, his idiot Father and his managements greed and overrating of his true worth that has caused it. The damage has been done and he'll never get the trust and respect of his peers and the fans back now.
St Kilda were immediately better sides minus Lockett and Barry Hall and both were streets ahead of Trav as players.
Not only can we survive without him we may very well prosper.

That was stupid 12 months ago but not now.DT56 wrote:Fev ??
Imagine him fit, focused and happy and you've got a bloke who alone will kick more than Cloke and Dawes combined plus we'd get him for next to nothing.
Why not? We did the same with Scotty Cummings who wasn't as good and injury riddled whereas Fev sole problem is between his ears.
It isn't any dumber than getting Andrew Krakour is it?

The team-manship certainly isn't there so does the club have the minerals to drop Cloke for Paine, even for a week ?
Against GWS is a golden opportunity. Leave Travis out and see how the land lies after the GWS match.
Travis's response will tell all.

Time (over time actually) to draw a line in the sand , make an offer give him a week and he either takes it or we agree to part ways .
I would prefer to have Cloke going forward but the current situation benefits no-one . If he goes we give a couple of the loyal guys alittle more (read Beames and Pendles) and then make an offer to someone else.
Hawthorn today , with a key forward down , dominated , we would just rejig our structure and realise there is life (and less pressure on the salary cap) beyond Cloke.
Collingwood needs certainty and stability now , It unsettled us last season (with Malthouse) and appears to be doing to same again this year. We made a stand in 2007 with Shaw and Dids , have the courage to do the same again Eddie. The team is more important than one (potentially - ) key individual.
