Dale Thomas - what is the hold up Travis, you staying or going.
Travis Cloke - I want to re-sign and stay, but Dad won't let me.
Dale Thomas - looks like you will be at Melbourne or Fremantle next year.
Travis Cloke - I'm in a no win situation, I can't resign here now b/c of dad & I fear Collingwood will re-sign other players meaning I can't stay.
No wonder he is playing badly. His mind is totally cluttered. Remember last time he resigned for us when he was in Bali, Travis over-ruled his father then.
David Cloke has is eyes on the Melbourne deal.
The quite word from multiple sources now (inc some journos like Sheehan On the Coach and Brad Hardie who does the 6PR Perth Sports Tonight program from the 3AW studios; Mick Malthouse said the 7 year deal with Melbourne was on) is that:-
Melbourne have offered Travis Cloke a 7 year contract @ 7 million.
They will front end it.
So Melbourne pay $2 million each of the first and second years of Travis contract; while their team is ordinary, and then still have money for their developing list when they are up and running. Melbourne also get 3 first picks in this draft.
Travis and his old man can't say no. That is why they have backed out of negotiations with Collingwod all together and David and Ralph Carr will not return calls or no longer talk about it through Mark Robinson in the Herald Sun or AFL 360. There was a time Robbo was on about it every night. Now nothing.
David Cloke has made his mind up and we (including Travis), all have to suffer.
Everyone thinks free agency means, players go to the top teams. If you look at the NFL in America, it is the exact opposite. Players go to teams with Salary Cap room.
With Mitch Clark and Travis Cloke and 3 first round draft picks and lots and lots of salary cap room. Melbourne see themselves as set.
Forget Travis Cloke's form this year.
Next year, he will have a clear mind at Melbourne and with Mitch Clark, they will make quite a pair.

Mate he has told the club he won't sign that deal and the club then said, well that's the deal take it or leave it..
It was 900k per year for 4 years...it was performance based though..
Base was 750 to 800 and the rest performance based...
He is gone and the club has accepted it..
Notice Buckley has gone Very sour on Cloke lately... Pies now signing up everyone else ASAP and will be looking at using the cash to snag any big player they can think of or use the pick/picks if hine finds it worth it

Cloke gone with source revealed
I posted this in another thread but I decided it needs a thread of its own..
Cloke is gone and won't be staying on in 2013..
I asked my source if i could post it and he ddnt mind, as it's not his brothers player...
My source is paul Connors brother who works with me..
He told me the pies offered him 750 to 800k per year over 4 years..they increased the deal to 900k but it was heavily based on performance..
Pies basically said take it or leave, as they had other players to sign up and wanted clokes form to increase ASAP.
Clokes rejected it and pies have conceded he is gone..
How u would say Paul connors knows this, well he just signed up Reid and was told that they have the money Reid wants now.. And that they will be hunting for players
I am happy Cloke is gone to be honest, as long as we use the picks well...
Expect Cloke to continue to play like crap til seasons end me thinks.
Once again guys take it as u will..time will tell that I am correct..

If true a sad day for the Collingwood Football Club. I am asking myself the question why do I feel so angry and bitter towards Cloke and his father.
Time heals, I guess!

Geoff Walsh has put all contract negotiations with Cloke on hold until the end of the season.
Sounds like he is gone.

knew this to be the case. word was Ed took it off the table when he didnt sign. If he doesnt improve ASAP i would drop him. let them scream that the club is damaging his brand and restricting his right to play and earn max $'s but you have to perform. Performance for all fwds IMO is the only way. dont base it on goals but base on team wins, goals, assists etc that way you get a good all round effort.
