Gablett played his heart out for Geelong until the last second, a weak daddy's boy like Trav won't be able to do it.
That's pretty much what I was getting at. Yablett was still getting BOGS most weeks.
My point is he'll be useless for us on the field, if he's definitely leaving.
If the Club is certain he's leaving they should drop him for the rest of the year and turn the Clokes into a laughing stock. This will also serve as a deterrent to those players who will possibly want to stuff around with us in the future.

Well done to the club; sometimes PR really is just child minding.
Dear kiddies. We know you're really sad because mummy and daddy won't let you sleep in their bed anymore. We also understand how scary those big adult words like "no", "wait" and "unsure" are. And because we care about you so much we got you all some lollies to take back to the playhouse to share with Bunny and Dolly. Run along now dears and don't worry your poor selves about adult things like negotiamonations.
People talking that seeing other players being signed spells the end of Cloke.
I think the opposite.
Last year we near on had to get rid of a couple of players because of the salary cap. This year we are in a worse position if the likes of Reid Beames and other rising players have salary increases.
It means that a few players will have to go and if the club is keen on sealing a deal with Travis they will now be sorting this side of things out by signing those we want now, working out who to move on and knowing what balance they need to meet to seal the deal.
I have a lazy eye and I think it is now spreading throughout the rest of my body
So in other words, the club wont be signing a new contract untill October, just like every other time they have signed him in his career and every other time people told us he was gone
They should have suspended negotiations 12 weeks ago
So David will be willing to accept less money from Collingwood (now Reid and co are being signed) just so a contract can be signed in October rather than July?

And could you tell us the basis for the revelation that Liam Jurrah is "likely to get off"?
There was no machete on the charge sheet. Yet that is the weapon he is being charged to have made the attack with.
Liam's Lawyer has been able to prove that everyone other than one person was drunk at the time. The person who wasn't drunk has claimed that Liam was only using self defence.

Selfish knob if you ask me. And to be honest I don't know how he can hold he head high with the input he has put in the last few weeks. Look at his effort against Jamieson who incidentally had a suspect shoulder. The bloke is biding his time. If I was Buckley I'd drop him and give the spot to someone who wants it more...
Oh and this one is for Nick Maxwell, if I hear the mantra of "Are you with us" as part of the membership drive one more time, I'll vomit, because there is one player that certainly "isn't with us"....
SPOT ON !! Greedy Cloke Clan has dumped a turd all over the slogan " Are YOU with us ". Dont say it again Maxy, cos your No. 32 aint with us mate. !

Club will still have the money, but they have always played out the year then sorted out the contract, why change it now?
Besides results at the end of the year might play a part in the decision. If the team slides and finishes 7th or 8th and gets knocked out week 1, it might be time to move on because the window is closing. Win the flag and you would be far more likely to stay

That's side by side right there, shocking year with injuries, Cloke (and others) poor form, miss the flag so you jump ship, nice.
perthmagpie wrote:We have Derek Hine. The man to find the replacement through the draft.
We also have Geoff Walsh, the master negotiator who brought us Ball and Jolly.
We also have the future of Jackson Paine, who looks like he could be a contested marking machine.
We also will have 900k space in our salary cap and probably a bunch in our ASA. This is assuming Travis does leave.
Side by Side.
There is up side.
Wont be 900k though - alot of this will go to the players we would have had to give up and Jackson wont ever be what Cloke has been. He will be very good just not as good - that is as good as the trav of 2010/2011
