Just disappointing that he's going. Ah well, will be good to see him kick 0.7 for other sides instead.

Oh no the press will be talking us down... that's a given anyway.

I would personally say to Travis - prove to us this year you are worth the bucket loads of money... help us win a flag - if he continues with his recent form he is the one dreaming about a huge pay etc.

Another flag with Cloke leading the charge would justify the big bucks!
Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!!

^ AND i guess Trav kicking 1 goal 5 per game will make em really happy over at Deeeees land. Lyon has always wanted to screw the Pies, he loathes us and reeks with jealously, this is his Scully revenge. Hope he drowns in his own putrid vomit. !
As for Daddy Cloke, he is beneath contempt.

He hasn't signed with anyone. He is still one of our players, and critical to our chances of winning a flag. Deserves respect. So he is not playing well. ffs last year proved for ever that only one game matters - unless you are Richmoan and have spent the last 30 years knowing you wont ever get there - so every game matters even when you beat the Suns - thats right they lost to the suns. We are having a great run in an era that is completely f..ed from a football dominace perspective - Adelaide will finish top because they are good, and because they play the muppets 4 times. There is now one objective for the Collingwood Football Club win enough games to finish 4th an have the midfiled cherry ripe for the first final in Adelaide. Win that and we then have Hawks or Swans at the G - for a shoty at the game that matters. Can the sky is falling crowd please order a copy of the Adelaide game this year, and then explain why teh seasons is over. I truly think it is absurd to get worked up over a home and away loss when it just doesnt matter. As for T Cloke, he genuinely seems like a nice kid. He doesnt have any mungrel in him. He has worked his heart out for the club, and he is still a Collingwood player. Therefore he has my respect whilst he wears the best jumper in Australian sport. What is going on at the moment is advanced super nintendo pissing competition between D Cloake and Eddie. If you think it is anything else, well your dreaming.

Hey! I've been thoroughly consistent in calling for an end to the salary cap and free agency/ I have said Cloke can go wherever he wants to but that there is no way on earth we should be paying him what he is patently NOT worth!

Right now he is worth less than what Beams just re-signed for. That's market value Cloke, it works BOTH ways! :P
Market value can be determined by the talent at your disposal and the quality of your company.
In the context of collingwoods "talent" and company he is not worth a million a year given there are better players not on the same.
At a poorer quality buisness with less talent he is obviously worth more.
The decision in this case is then long term vs short term gain.
Long term at collingwood given the quality of the organisation could open opportunitys to earn after footy. Short term there could be more success at collingwood. If Trav thinks this can be matched at another organisation then good luck to him and as you say its a free market.
Does not mean we have to like it or just simply agree that a pay rise is the only consideration he should take into account and leave.

Ive been offered plenty to leave my organisiation in the last few years with the last call as late as friday last week. Its not just loyalty that keeps me where Im at its understanding the short, medium and long term prospects.

What do people think are Travis Clokes chances of staying now?

I think 60% chance of staying and 40% chance of leaving.

I hope he is a better man than he appears, and puts the furture of Travis above those of his media popularity. All of us at Collingwood want him to stay however, we would all prefer he finds a place to find his talent again regardless of the club.

There are no Collingwood supporters that want you to stay at Collinwood however, if it's impossible for your Dad, do what you can to stay in the game because you are a better footballer than your Dad ever was.
Mick Malthouse cost the first 2 boys their careers and now everyone reckons Travis has signed a deal to join Carlton WITH Mick? Its hilarious

The thing that doesin't make sense is:-

Cloke should be in career best form from now till end of year so that he has as many suitors as possible.

Instead he is doing the opposite.

This will open the door for a cashed up Port Adelaide!

Oh no, not a form slump, what a disgrace, no player ever has those, he is struggling badly, about 3 goals worse off than last year at this stage, unacceptable

BTW suprised there has been no bagging of Ben Reid? The Cloke has gone thread sure sounded like Reid had been holding out for more money, combined with the fact he has been in absolutely shithouse form and gets bagged in every post match thread, that would keep up the consistency?

Oops, last names not Cloke, so no hate there ;)

At some stage after season end, Travis will stand up to his old David and sign for Collingwood.

It will be when he is on holiday at the end of season and away from his old man.

Last time he signed he was in Bahli at the time.

Season will end, Collingwood will make an offer, Travis and David will go away. Travis will go on holiday away from his dad and secretly ring the Football Department and Bucks and say he is staying.

That is what hapened last time.

Surely he should be playing out of his skin for the rest of the year to impress other teams.
