Let's call a spade a spade, mouldhouse destroyed Jason, and Cameron, who had talent, was lazy and arrogant and destroyed himself. Travis loomed large on the horizon when he was 13 so these recruiters no what to look for.

I've read somewhere that this kid is potentially the best no.1 pick of all time. Massive wraps. Bastards!

Yep.. but just to keep things in context the same was said about Josh Fraser, in fact he was regarded as the best young talent since Tony Lockett

And to put it into more perspective, he's had an injury riddled junior career (stress fractures of the back) and will be drafted to a club with terrible development programs for their draftees...

Plus, they'll put him in from rd 1 and he'll get smashed for the entire 2013 season....

And.... his bloodlines have wonky knees.

This is absolute BS. The kid is 16 YEARS OLD!
when Eddie was fairly new at Collingwood, we recruited a guy by the name of Jason Cloke under the father and son rule. My dad came home from a pies meeting with MM and Eddie and said that the reason we took him was because Richmond were balking and by taking the oldest boy (and there was a second modestly talented Cloke as well we would take) we would get in good terms with his father and therefore have the front ruinning to get the third son, a boy by the name of Travis, who was then 13 years old, and who by all reports was going to be an absolute star.

Not sure what happened to that boy Travis, but it shows you that its worth thinking about a kid at age 16, if he looks the goods.......
Yeah, bit tired and emotional when I posted that! its been a long week

I have heard the above, but always thought it was more folklore than actual fact; I mean you can't say we didn't give the first 2 Clokes every possible chance to make it, so saying that we just drafted them to get Travis always seemed a bit rich.

The point I was making about Darcy is that at this time of year we always hear about the Great Black and White Hope; last year it was Witts, it was Dawes a few years before that, this year it seems to be a 16 year old kid.

Pretty sad really. And if he turns out to be as good as the hype is saying, it won't be anbother 7 years until he hits anything near his peak you would think.

That wouldn't bother you though coz maltys such a good bloke.
When Have I said recently he is a good bloke? I just think screaming and posturing about Carlton and bellowing that you are the best Collingwood supporter as a result is stupid and immature. Obviously you don't. What the hell that's not my problem - that's yours.

You have a very highly developed sense of denial.....

12 years ago Josh had only 12 other drafts to be the best of and most of them were more hit than miss. Since 2000 the no. 1 picks have been much better. We'll just have to wait and see

He is 18 now I believe but not eligible for last years draft.
Eligible this year so while not an over age certainly not young in this comp.

He was named in the best again, played CHB first half then CHF kicking 3 in the second.

Thanks DTM & MJ23 for the other week.

This is great to read amongst all the doom & gloom of "our" round one.
