Top Ten players at Magpie land

Post by JLC »

ok heres what i think is our current top 10 players at Collingwood at the moment. These are exclusively my views and do ot represent those of the match committee..........lol

1 Bloody Obvious - Nathan Buckley
2 Chris Tarrant - Brilliant and super quick
3 Shane Obree - Very underrated and plays well week in week out
4 Tarkyn Lockyer - Most improved player and exceptional kick
5 Josh Fraser - Will improve more as he continues to build up
6 Nick Davis - Very vital cog in the team and great kick
7 Scott Burns would be higher but had a few injury problems. Big Heart
8 Jarrod Molloy - Physical presence is great in our forward line
9 Glenn Freeborn - Very very underated but performs every week very rarely gets beaten
10 Anthony Rocca - Still hasd plenty of Improvement left in him

No doubt people will disagree but its just a matter of opinion and everyone is entitled to one. Freeborn will surprise many people but i believe he does his job week in and week out and uses the ball efficiently.

EVERYONE IS A COLLINGWOOD SUPPORTER ITS JUST THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE IN DENIAL

Fradam - how is O'Bree not in the top 10 (or top 5)?

Of the players above him, only 4 (Tarrant, Buckley, Fraser, Burns) could be said to absolutely have been better over time and this year, but Burnsy's injury worries would place him below.

While Davis & Lockyer are debatable, all the others are of lesser value (Adkins, Rocca, Richardson, Prestigiacomo, Wakelin, Betheras, Steinfort) or far too inexperienced and unproven (Lonie, Didak).

I knew having O'Bree so low would get me in trouble. Let me explain why I have players above him.

Adkins - the guy is all class and he takes them on.
Rocca - he can win a match off his ownboot.
Richardson - he never plays a bad game, runs hard and backs himself.

Lockyer - kicks goals and has great disposal.
Lonie - I've probably got him too low I reckon, he's kicking goals from the half back line which is very valuable.
Presti - gets the most out of his ability, works and tries hard.
Didak - reads the play well and has excellent disposal.
Wakelin - does a great job, runs hard from defence.
Betheras - puts his body on the line and goes hard.
Steinfort - shuts down the oppositions best midfielder each week.

I'm very harsh on O'Bree I know. Last week his was great but i get frustrated when he turns the ball over. He's skills arnt that great, he tends to throw the ball on the boot without looking and when under pressure tends to make mistakes and his decision making isnt that flash. Having said that he does get a lot of the footy. I've put guys above him like Adkins and Didak coz I think they'll be better players in the future and their skill level is higher. So I've put guys with a higher skill level above O'Bree, the others I've put above him are guys who kick goals and guys who try their guts out every week and never let us down.I said in my original post that I play favourites and I do. O'Bree just frustrates me when I watch him.

They're all stars ... Bucks, O'Bree, Tarrant, Davis ... can't put them in any order.

Go Danny!
