ARE WE GOOD?
ARE WE GOOD?
ARE WE ANY BLOODY GOOD?
YES WE ARE! YES WE ARE!
WERE THE BLOODY BEST BY FAR!

Well done Collingwood!
After a pretty dismal first half, we lifted the tempo. Even when we were 36 points down at half time, i thought we were still in it. Great fighting effort to come back so well.
Overall a satisfying win. Image

Hi Nick
We weren't at our best today...but a win is a win. The second half was excellent, but the Saints best players were going off injured. That may have been our saving grace.

We were being slaughtered in the middle in the first half with Harvey and Jones the main contributors.

Luckily our guys came out fighting in the second half and our experience with the close games made us stronger and a better accomplished side under pressure.

Well done guys....but don't play like you did in the first half again cause it scared me Image

PS. Bring on the Swannies

We would've lost against Freo in that first half, but the boys came out in the second half and played harder and ran in numbers to win a game we were expected to win.

Just a bit worried about these lapses after we've had a good win!

What a sensational revival. You may argue that they should not have been 6 goals down at 1/2 time, but a true indication of CHARACTER is a side that can
1. win when they are playing badly
2. Over haul a significant 1/2 time lead
3. win the "should win" games (something we did fail to do against north.
Special points for mention were. Clements long last quarter goal from the centre square (was that a freak kick , or can he really kick 70 metre drop punts) and Ants work around the ground today, as a marking option.
Great work guys , now lets see if they can do a 4 quarter effort against the swans and consolidate us in the top 8

Yeah, we're not bad. Only one bad quarter really. We should have been in front at quarter time. We had enough of the play. Second quarter was a nightmare. Too complacent. Too lethargic. I don't know what Malty slipped into their half-time drinks but they were like greyhounds on elephant juice in the second half.

Overall, not one of our better games. But good sides can win on a bad day. So things are looking very promising I reckon.

For God's sake I hope we can blow the Swans away early next week and just bury them. I'm sick of close games. Not that this was really all that close in the end. But we can't afford to give away 6 goal head starts against good sides. Just as well we weren't playing one today.

Well I experienced the full spectrum of emotion yesterday which is what it is all about. Great win Pies. Pretty good crowd support I thought as well, couldn't hear a thing when we hit the front.

Well, it DID turn out to be the "Danger Game" that Mike & I feared.

Good.

Why good? Because they had enough spirit to not just break out of their lethargy but run over the top of the Aints. Also shows that good recruiting is not about BIG names, but the RIGHT names for the team. Would have liked to do it with Gehrig, etc still on the field, but, hey - you can only beat the opposition who are out there.

And now for Sydney...

I want a HUGE showing, as this will be my 2 year-old daughter's first LIVE game (finally convinced Mrs Broadie to let me take her!). She's had her COllingwood dolls singing the song to each other all week and is very excited about it all...Don't let her down Pies!
