Take a bow Ben Johnson and Glenn Freeborn...

Post by NICK THE PIE MAN »

Ben Johnson was fantastic in the centre aginist St Kilda, especially in the 2nd half. Deserves to start in the centre.

Glenn Freeborn! I love him playing on the half back flank. He runs the ball out of the back-line fast and his disposal is great.

Just like to say that, very pleased with both their effort's. Also it was great seeing Ryan 'im the next buckey' Lonie playing in the centre in the last term. He did have a impact.

CARN THE PIES!!!

yeah, johnnos 2nd + 3rd efforts were excellent, what about when he ran from right in our defence to right near our 50, kicking the ball along the ground, that was the best!!

johnson is proving himself to be worthy of a spot in the team that everyones fighting hard in the two's to play for. Always has a go at it and trys his hardest, courageous effort everytime, onya jono.

Freeborn is very under-rated, his disposal, wouldn't say it's all that great all the time but the majority of the time anyway.

Onya boys.

Ben Johson was balanced.

A lot of our guys have that impressive poise and balance now. Up to last year we used to lose our feet, probably trying too hard. Now we are fast enough to control the ball and control the turf. The toughness of Molloy and Johnson and Holland and Fraser and Lockyer etc. etc....that's the thing that's coming through to me. And silky smooth Lonie is a bonus, kicking goals every week. We can talk them all up, probably not fair to leave anyone out, but let's mention Clement too, what a highlight with that booming kick...a weapon just waiting in the wings. And it's fantastic to see Anthony Rocca moving like a Panther taking tough marks and letting the opposition know he's around.

Winning teams look good, and the same team losing can look like no-hopers...but this year even when we lose we look like we are giving it our best shot...you can't ask for more...and these guys are enjoying their football...I think they know they can be as good as (and better than) anyone around.

And it certainly is very healthy to have Burns and Rintoul and Ukovic and Adkins all trying to get back, with a youngster like Didak waiting in the wings. In SA they say he'll be a star one day.

Mick and Eddie want to build a Dynasty. Words can often be cheap, not always fulfilled. But I do believe that the dream is happening at Collingwood. With 16 clubs all grabbing the best talent through draft picks, they all want to win and be the best. There needs to be something in the *attitude* to get one of the 16 to rise to the top and stay there.

There's something about Collingwood that is the stuff of Legends...maybe it's the past history or the fanatical crowds...but those who play for us must never become lazy or satisfied or do it just for the money. (We've had a few over the years who have chased the dollar. It never works. Few seem to go on and really succeed. Can you think of any ex-collingwood player who has come to be another club's legend?...)

No guys...if you want to be a Football Legend...it's The Magpies or nothing! Fortune will follow later!
