Don't start this argument again...please!! These supporters are instrumental in keeping a club afloat, we are lucky to have them. While they may not stick with it all the time they do provide alot of finacial gain for a clun year in year out.

The 40,000 who are there through thick and thin are the supporters who will get the most joy when the success comes. You cannot feel the real highs of following your team unless you go through the lows.

As for the 60,000 bandwagon supporters, good luck to them. Deep in their hearts they will know that they have only jumped on board for the ride. But if that suits them, why not. The main issue is that the administrators of ALL clubs want these supports as it boosts their coffers.

I'm all for as many people turning up to Collingwood games as possible. I know there are those who come out of the woodwork when you start to get a win, but this is to be expected... the only thing that will annoy me is when these people - or worse still, the people who dont even attend collingwood games, get priority to finals tickets. It really annoys me when true week-in week-out year after year fans cant get to a final, especially the grand final, when all these ringins magically appear and manage to mysteriously get tickets at ease. It doesnt matter whos playing whether it be Essendon / Melbourne or if it involves the Pies... its wrong how the true supporter suddenly gets shafted at the most important time of the year.

If we can keep winning,we might be able to turn some of those bandwagon supporters into members for next year.

Lets beat Essendon in the membership stakes next year!

Any member has paid for 22 games. Whether they go or not is something you can't do much about.

Other than that - would you really want to sit in a superbox behind a wall of glass? Don't forget your tie...

I entirely agree with you joffa we are the one that have been in the trenches and have weathered the storms of the past 7 years since that afternoon at vic park against north melbourne in 1994.
I can name a million and one examples in that time that i was there when me, fellow COLLINGWOOD LOVERS AND THE MIGHTY COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB was really struggling on and off field.
Was anybody at that freezing , blizzard and icy saturday afternoon in round 10 1999 against freo (the way not to go ha ha suck shit drummy the dummy) watch out first win of the season. I had lumps in my throat and i was crying because I had a gut feeling that i was there when COLLINGWOOD hit rock bottom.
WELL SAID JOFFA ABOUT COLLINGWOOD COLLINGWOOD IS A PEOPLES CLUB IT IS GREAT BECUASE THE PEOPLE STICK TOGETHER TO MAKE THE MAGPIES WHAT IT IS. ITS A CAST OF DON'T ASK WHAT COLLINGWOOD CAN DO FOR YOU BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FRO THE GREATEST CLUB OF ALL THE COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB. LOVE THE PIES PIES TILL I DIE
