Congratulations to Scott Pendlebury on 150 games. He's been a magnificent player for Collingwood and one of the best players in the black and white I've ever seen. He's leadership material and his work rate and tenacity can't be questioned.
I've really enjoyed watching him develop from a scrawny young kid to a superstar over the years.
@Annodam, I wouldn't trade Pendles for anyone. He's the ultimate superstar. We're very lucky to have him at Collingwood, and to think that other sides thought he wasn't even top 30 material when he first got drafted
That is one of my favourite and most memorable games.

- Maxwell's courage as Brown did a diving head butt to try and hurt him!!
- Buck's six goals
- Buck's tackle on Mal Michael
- Bucks outmarking the "Roos coach to be" in the goal square
This match made me change my mind from Daics to Bucks as the best Pies player I have ever seen.
But enough of the reminiscing ... It' Scotty's day on Sunday.
Having a glass half empty moment here. Didn't realise this was his 8th season - was sort of hoping it might be his 5th and we had another 7 to look forward to. Feeling kind of sick now to think he's already been around that long. Guess the best thing to do is enjoy the moment, take it one game at a time, etc etc etc.
If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies.

He was touted by many recruiters to go in the teens around pick 16ish, in fact some recruiters were having a giggle about Hine selecting him at 5.
Gee, as other posters have mentioned that came around very quickly!
As for him going at number 5 in the draft, I was living in the UK at the time and remember going in to the Apple Store on Regent Street in London to check out who we drafted. I too thought ... Scott Pendlebury??? WTF? I hope they haven't stuffed this up by taking a smokey basketall project player so early! There was just so little written about him in the lead up to the draft.

Xavier Ellis is injury prone. The best we ever saw of him was the 2008 Grand Final, which is a fair measure of his capabilities. He's skinny, but so were Kevin Bartlett and Michael Tuck, who played a few games between them. No recruiter can truly know how much luck a player will have. Chris Judd had dodgy shoulders; Joel Selwood a bung knee. Who wouldn't have taken them at number one in hindsight?
Back to the topic at hand. The first time I saw Scott Pendlebury, he had so much more time than anyone else he reminded me of James Hird. I kept that opinion to myself at the time, for obvious reasons. He's a very special player and, barring disaster, his durability should see him chalk up another 150 games, no sweat. He'll certainly be our next captain and I pray he'll have the honour of lifting our next Premiership Cup - unless, of course, Nick Maxwell gets to do it a second time in September!

But seriously, of all the selections in his 8 years as recruitment manager, this one has got to be Dekka's finest. Undoubtedly, Scott Pendlebury is the best player to walk into this football club since 1994, when a young bloke called Nathan Buckley pulled on our jumper for the first time. And up there with the very best to have ever played for Collingwood.
Congratulations, Scott. Here's to another 150 quality games (and hopefully a few more premierships to go with them)!
